Very good source from U of W concerning the history, methods, pros and cons, along with impacts to the environment/sustainability using the various methods of BioChar mfgring.
Complete with diagrams of many various types of kilns used all over the world. ie: Brazilian Beehive kilns, Missouri kilns and on and on.
Just the history alone was fascinating.
