All right guys and gals let me throw this by you and see if anybody can educate me please... Have an ornamental pond in my backyard with some fish and it year-round although currently all I see in there is a little muskie that doesn't belong in there he came in a minnow trap when he was about 2 inches long haven't been able to get him out since and he ate all the other fish in there that I can see. Anyway ponds been established for 3 years and I'm sure it's teeming with microbial life will that help in creating a living soil and is there any negative effects from watering my plants with it pH of the pond is usually around 7 comes out of my well water at about 8.2 I put the hose in it weekly to top it off...including a couple pics may post another pic later today when I put my pond plants back out for the year
