Mimed’s Perpetual Thread

I have been leaning left and hanging over the arm of my big living room chair and a half. I was feeling much better yesterday until the snowstorm last night. I ask every doctor why storms hurt more. They agree but do not know why they would affect us so...

Same humidity and cold weather. For me I think it's partly due to muscle tightening that make my pain worse. It's funny cause it the bulging disc and swelling around when aggravated that cause the pain which heat can make swelling worse. But if I heat my back and relax the muscles when tense if cold since thats when my muscles seem to tense up it it really helps. I guess cause the muscles aren't pulling it spasming. Same when stressed.

Oh I left out the Florida move! I was born and raised a Michigander! Up there when the weather was bad the soreness was in full mode for me. Moved here to Florida and started drinking lots of water between the weather and water I feel about 10 yeArs younger.

I crashed a street bike when i was 25. I was racing like an idiot against my buddys 78 hot rodded camaro with my worked v45 honda magna.

He raced through a yellow light right in front of the atco speedway in jersey and i got cut off by a left turning tractor trailer.

I layed the bike down and slid under but my right foot hit some frame bars and seperated me from the bike.

It slid straight down the highway in a hail of sparks and i went right in between a guard rail and an electrical pole.

Radial sprained my right leg and knee and my handlebars. Lol.

Just one more stupid thing that was going to hurt when i got older.

I have been alternating heat and cold packs. Seems to help to switch. But mostly ice takes the pain down. Heat does make things stiff as hell.

It’s common sense the heat should loosen thing up and relax the muscles. And it does however there are recent studies opinions that suggest the heat may not help the healing process at all. If you feel u are having the pain from swelling and pressure then I would suggest ice only a very regimented ice only Once here and there does no good. By all means I don’t really know ur condition so follow doctors orders! (I’m a retired football coach/athletic trainer not a real doc of course.) combined with my own experiences

At first i used ice only for relief. The heat semed to in rease the tension in my leg and knee. But now it helps to loosen it up with the heating pad before i move around and then ice down after.

Seems the swelling is going down now. I cant believe its more than a month like this. I was hoping to be on the 2 week end of the ratio. Lol.

I lived in groveland and clermont. South side of the big lake from ocoee. Sort of a mountain in between. Most dont know central florida is hilly.
