I knew that title would get you in here! Hello, I got a nice little set up going on over here and I could use some helpful criticism. Any advice for a first time grower with his "slapped together" shack o weed?

Nice start. Looking good. Is your room light proof? Make sure that room is absolutely light tight or you will get a bunch of hermied stressed out plants. Dont forget the arbon air scrubber. Any fans up in there? Good luck and have a happy growing of a day

A week into it.

I had these 10 clones about about a week now. 3 of the clones, great og, sour diesel, and ultimate blueberry, roots grew so fast I had to upgrade their pots early just to keep them going. I'm waiting for all of them to be ready before I put them in their permeate 3 gallon pots. Should be less then a week. in either case, check out what my girls are looking like as of 1/13/2011.:sign0005:

welcome to the growing club be careful it's addictive.

i was just talking to a buddy about a few business opportunities in our future and how no matter how much money i made i would still probably grow it's soooo addictive! now i would scale way back and just grow for me at that point though lol.


room looks clean man i remember my first room it was so clean and perfect. looks like you are running fox farm nutes? good stuff man simple and great results. the only pointers i have are make sure the pots dry out before you water them and dont over feed them! also dont be shy if a plant starts looking like shit share that pic bro it will help us help you correct the problem quick dont wait embarrassed to show the pic!

you're gonna wanna hang those thermometers in the near future so you can get a temp reading at the canopy and not at the pot level. all and all a awesome start man enjoy it and in a few months you will be so high you will forget you are a grower!

I'm just a novice doing what I can with what I got. I just gave them their first adult sized feeding, so we'll see what they look like in a few days. so far, they've all grown from ranges of 1/4" to 1 1/2" daily. so not too shabby!

Need some more info:

How far is the light from the top of the plants?

Is there an oscillating fan in there?

Is there an intake hole or intake fan?

Is there an exhaust fan?


Heres some quick tips for you! Looks like your overwatering so i will help you with that. Also lets get the hygrometer guage placed in the correct spot within the garden. These two things will help you get off to a great start.

Tape the hygrometer temperature guage to one of the pots in the middle of the garden. Try to get it to be as high as the canopy. If you cant tape it then just place it on one of the leafs. Now you will get an accurate reading.

Pick up your pots after you have watered them. Get used to the weight. Check pots regularly, lift them and feel the weight again. Sooner or later you should be able to figure out when and when not to water just by picking up the pots.

yeah, it's sketchy looking but I know it'll hold.. I'm good with building things. 2x4's will make due till I buy a real one.:character0029:
