Hey dream , just try and include day you started till first roots , even if tiny like my roots and average temps..in area....I'll take a smaller 1 in near future, gotta good candidate on bottom of og kush, need sleep though, don't wanna chop whole thing down cuz I'm high & tired lol
One more pick a close upI'm too chicken to pull my plants out of the sphagnum, vermiculite and perlite mix.. this is day 11... This is only the second time I've ever done this... First time was nearly 20 years ago.. and was a success until I forgot to take a dome off and they all burned while I was at work..both of these clones have one other leaf on there that started to die yellowing from the tip up which I cut off yesterday... I think some of my recycle sphagnum Moss was it little bit hot... Any guesses as to whether they're rooting or not... By the way these clones are less than an inch and a halfView attachment 943075View attachment 943076.

Hey foutwenty , thanks for participating , thank yo MIM also
Yea , i have an idea about your clones , ill reply in a short time....
Thanks for posting , i think its cool if everyone throws some pics like these and we can guess / learn something ...
Ive just learned stuff from the last few pages on the thread !
And i think new growers can visualize what might come their way in the future , after the basics are learned , so its cool here for everyone.....
I don't take actually take temps but they stay about 65-75 which is a little on the cool side but its winter & this room stays chilly since I have to keep it closed off. In next few months it should average about 75-85 since it'll be warm out. I'm so limited in space & other amenities for proper growing in this apt but I do what I can. New cutting will be posted in little whileHey dream , just try and include day you started till first roots , even if tiny like my roots and average temps..in area....
Yea , gotcha , thats a part of the equation , and where many people get frustrated ....I don't take actually take temps but they stay about 65-75 which is a little on the cool side but its winter & this room stays chilly since I have to keep it closed off. Cool temps arent bad and reduce shock (thats just my own goofy notion)
I mean when i first started growing , i would put some cuts in the salad bin of the fridge to preserve them for a few days ( stasis ? )i if i needed to buy time...it worked
Then humidity and warmth are a huge
factor , clones always go off better for me in warmer temps , but in winters i can have trouble or delay from cold
Cold keeps mold and creepy fungus , etc at bay , but slows down growth , so give and take....
Of course we all know there is a temp , humidity range that is perfect for each stage of growth , including clones....
But who has perfect year round conditions .....
I use water in a cup as a last resort because where im at , it either gets too cold , or too warm and i have a superstition about airborne bacteria etc collecting in the water , and the almost daily task of changing out with fresh water ....
Havent done a lot of aquaponics lately , used to do the project plastic boxes , soda bottles etc , always fun to do the inventive stuff , and the air stones in water seem to really bring clones to life , going to get back on that when i have warmer temps here and clear out some space.....
Bigcube showed off some pics with a wick in a cup that were amazing ......
Hey foutwenty , yea , ive done the same thing with my dome , fried em ...I'm too chicken to pull my plants out of the sphagnum, vermiculite and perlite mix.. this is day 11... Also , i like to use a hand mister ( like a home depot spray bottle )to keep the medium just damp , not soaking , since your not in rapid rooters , coco , etc......Hey foutwenty , yea , ive done the same thing with my dome , fried em ...
Its a delicate balance in dome world , on the one hand you want them to be all comfy and not stressed by the outdoor environment , so you dial em in , opening a crack etc....
Then ive decided they were ready for more light , placed them under , left them alone without cracking yhe little vent a bit , and next thing you know ... "death at the sauna".....
Are they from a flowering plant ?
Because thats going to be a different story....
Yea i wouldent use anything hot to start my cuts in , but good for you pushing the envelope , now another thing we can observe....
My new philosophy is as long as they are standing up , and at least a pinch green with no rot, chances are good....
Yea i wouldent tug on them yet , but i think you wont see any movement for another 10 days ( unless they are from flowers like MIM s grow )
Yeah they came from a plant that show it's sex within a few hours of me doing the clones. They were the very lowest branches of the plant. As far as the dome goes I didn't use it this time around.. I'd rather err on the side of them being too dry then getting cookedHey foutwenty , yea , ive done the same thing with my dome , fried em ...

Yea , maybe just a bit slower .....and have to be careful water dosent get too cold in summer air cond , or winter...I just top up the evaporated water in the glass and change it out maybe once per week or if it gets cloudy.
But it is definitely a slower method than others. My clones root and veg for 5 or 6 weeks just like my seed plants.
That's exactly how I water them this time was with a mister.. using bottled water onlyAlso , i like to use a hand mister ( like a home depot spray bottle )to keep the medium just damp , not soaking , since your not in rapid rooters , coco , etc......
Yea when ive done flowering clones , loke MIM just did , i notice fine root development , but much slower re veg leaf growth......Yeah they came from a plant that show it's sex within a few hours of me doing the clones. Yea thats my goal , to get away from domes, its just super dry where i do clones and run into problems with fragile cuts.....I always used a dome until this fall when i lost all my clones to pm.
The cuttings i showed above were just placed out from under the direct light along the sides of the 3x3 tent. They did eat their leaves a bit faster put in the open but also rooted faster and started growing sooner than expected.
Temp lights on about 73 farenheight. Maybe lower near the floor. And humidity 45-50% max.
I wont use a dome again I dont think.

Could be weeks before yours get growing
You just opened a nee advanced category in the mini me thread....
Cloning a flowering cut , well you and MIM , did .....
