(minn,) Moorhead Medical Marijuana Site Set To Open Early This Summer

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - The region's first medical marijuana dispensary is set to open in just a couple of months.

Minnesota Medical Solutions plans to open the Moorhead location sometime this May or June.

The site will be at 104 7th Street South, in an old Subway building.

Originally, the dispensary was planned to open this fall, but the CEO said due to low patient numbers, the opening date needed to be pushed back.

Under Minnesota state law, all new medical marijuana facilities must be open by July 1st.

The Moorhead dispensary will sell oils, tinctures and pills made from marijuana extract.

Only patients with qualifying conditions, their parents or registered caregivers will be allowed in the store.

Here we are almost four months later. So far, under 2k patients are in the registry. Hopefully, Intractable Pain will increase the number so prices will drop. Also, breaking news of a very serious State and Federal investigation of MinnMed was released earlier this month. Law requires at least two manufacturers but what if Minn. Med is found guilty, faces federal minimum sentencing, and loses its license to operate in MN? Are we left with one ethical company to serve the entire State of Minnesota? This is huge precedent if the allegations are true:

Not trying to bash directly of the club applying but look at the cal dispensary history and all the corrupt BS that happened . How is this nothing more/less than that but just one Shop allowed only 2 growers or w/e makes the shop most profit ,no competition but prohibition ? Sounds like how what Canada did and it was all lobby bs so only a few could be in the business and make more with no options . A few states have same laws or tried to monopolize for a few greedy companies
