mites and organic soil,, help?

a friend of mine has a slight mite issue at the end of his crop... i havent seen the plants or the room so i dont know how bad the infestation is.

my question... once he harvest this week. will the mites continue to live in the soil if he removes the roots. and if he decideds to store the soil will the mites survive?

i guess really i cant find enough info on how these things(mites) are bred or how they survive or how long they live for? anyone that has some input on the situation my buddy would appreciate it. thanks

With all he has to lose I would suggest new dirt and a SERIOUS cleaning of the space.... then bomb the fuck out of it and for the next grow...slap in the required amount of No Pest Strips for the space size from the get go.
