there only a few weeks left with this grow and one of my plants has mold on it.. i took it out straight away.. does this mean the rest will get mold to ? anything i can do with the mold bud..

Nothing to do with the moldy bud, but get OxiDate or something similar that you can use directly on affected areas. Cut out the moldy bits, too, so it doesn't spread.

Put on some nitrile gloves, really tight ones work better IME, and mix up some Greencure (google this product), at 1/5 strength.

Keep dipping your finger tips in the solution over and over while rubbing the affected leaves and stems trying NOT to get ANY on the buds at all.

This has worked for me in the final stages of flowering when I got a lil pm trouble.

The PM might still look like its there, but after a few rub downs it should slow to a stop and all the visible areas will just be dead spores...(if you have a micro, check it out, they're dusted)

Just whats worked for me! Good luck! PM's a BITCH!

mold is not very specific - can you describe it?

black tar looking mold - white powder on the leaves spreading to the buds?

Truth, motherlode.

My suggestion worked for white powdery mold. Never encountered anything else.

Sorry if that doesnt help!

im sure he means the brownish light colored mold that affects dnser nugs inside out. its that time of the season some ppl use organicide n swear by it i dunno tho.

its white greyish looking and is starting at the stem and working its ways outwards, i took the plant that was most affected out and chopped it.. going to make cookies out of it.. i did find more on another plant so i chopped half that bud off, hopefully thats it now..

Uh oh... that kinda sounds like botrytis or... now I can't remember the other common one... fusarium! And pythium?

From my readings (and recent experience) PM is IN the plants. It's systemic..just like you getting a cold. Treating the PM with sprays is just treating a symptom...but it's all you can really do. (as far as I know) I caught my PM early and used a mix of Baking soda and water with good results. I spray it on in the day (test it on a small area first) and then the following day I rinse it with clean water and then re-apply the mix. It spread just a tad to my 2 other clone plants but did not touch any of my seeded plants. It has re-appeared just a bit on a few of the lower leaves. I am going to use a hydrogen peroxide mix today and see how that works. IMO (and from what I have read) it's quite possible seeded plants have a better immune sytem than a cloned plant. I also read where OG Kush and some others are PM resistant (I'm not sure how accurate that may be) Excess nutrients (esp N) also weaken the plants leaf structure and make it a good breeding ground for PM so maybe a good flushing will help it out from an internal aspect. I would like to gather more info about boosting (or rebalancing) an MJ plants immune system. Anywho..once all my plants are harvested I will have to disinfect the entire greenhouse with sulfur burns and bleach. Once that shit gets going it's a real battle to get rid of.

IMO, if PM has hit the buds it's shit. Burn it and start over.

Good luck in the battle!

If its starting from the stem out its time to chop before it spreads to the rest of the buds.

greencure is affective on a lot of diff molds... bud rot and pm to name a few

My 95 plant outdoor crop got mold right after budding started. We had 2 weeks of wet foggy weather. Between the mold and deer I lost about 80% of the crop. I have been able to pick enough good buds for my own use, otherwise it is experimental.

Sulfur is mentioned as being preventative. Years ago I used to plant english peas, mildew was always a problem in the summer. I used to dust with sulfur. It would completely prevent it and even cure an existing infestation. I will try this another year and see what happens. I would apply this at male rougeing time just before budding begins. Sulfur was considered an organic practice as long as it came from a mined source. It would not be good to get it on buds but if applied before budding the residual effects should last.

there has been no other sightings of mold, how long before i can safely say that all they wont get any more.. starting to flush not think there nearly ready

You growing indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse?

I grow in a GH and close it up for about an hour during the day and let the temps go to 100-105 F. Powdery Mildew/PM is killed at that temperature.

growing indoors, ye i can let my temps get that high and see what happens thanks

no im not west coast, will this spread ?

Yes. But you can keep it under control if you caught it early and keep after it...at least until you can harvest. Then do a major clean-up.

I would not sell buds that are infected with it...nor would I want to buy buds that have been doused with chemicals to treat it. I would be pretty pissed off
if someone sold me moldy buds.

If I had PM infected buds, I'd do the right thing and destroy them asap.

Any pictures?

no pictures of the mold as i cut it up and have made hemp butter out of most of it, since the last mold none has appeared.. thank god,,
