mold!!??

hey folks, so my buddy has a fee younge seedlings just starting veg..neways he noticed a bit of white fuzz on the top of his soil..what is it and what does he do??

I had this same problem. My babies were in 4" pots when I saw it. If its the same problem as me then you have nothing to worry about. I actually came to the farm for answers just like you and I got some good ones.

I had actually thrown them in the garbage cause people took to long to reply. I hope I made it in time and you dont gotta go digging through the trash like I did Lol. good luck!

More than likely a mycellium web, which as it has been explained to me, is a good thing. It just means your soil is very bioactive. Unless you start seeing problems I would not be concerned.

...yeah, the white mold on the top of your soil is almost certainly a beneficial fungi, it's the green stuff you need to worry about.

...yeah that's almost certainly mycorhizzae (spelling?) which is a beneficial fungi that enters into a symbiotic relationship with your plants and it does nothing but good.
