Example of high red spectrum to manipulate efficiency rating and then you need to know if there was an actual sphere test done by a 3rd party or is it based on a flawed mathematical equation as almost all newer LED companies are doing?

Email them and ask for a copy of the 3rd party sphere test. If they cannot provide it to you the you know its the latter… and if they say huh? Then all the ore reason to look elsewhere.

See this is a common practice in the lighting industry that most don’t realize or know about… when a company publicly publishes their 3rd party lab test results then you can believe what claims are made.

Just a dumbass Canadian that loves everything grow related. Im far to much of a coward to even stand next to him. I greatly admire his courage to stand up for his beliefs though.

So i need 150 LED fixtures for my commercial grow. What are the most efficient lights on the market rn?
Is it still the ones with the samsung chips? I've been reading about the 5050 horticulture chips which can reach up to 3 µmol/J?? Is that true?
If yes where can i get fixtures with these chips?

thanks guys

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Most of them are just rebranded chinese lights tho. I am now interested in that Evo chip .
I asked my supplier in china if they can make some for me. I'll keep yall updated.

Btw: the 300$ light i was talking about was with Lm281 chip. Lm301h is 350$ per fixture which is still a steal.

So i decided that i will build these air distribution systems myself. All these airglide, vertical air solution companies are super overpriced. They are basically selling you a duct fan with a bunch of tubes for thousands of dollars. I'll try to get the tubes from a textile company (shouldnt be a big deal for them) and hook up a fan to them. I just have to do some math.
I decided to use textile tubes instead of plastic or metal because this way i can easily throw them into a hot washing machine after each run .

Anybody in here have an idea how i can stop the air from just escaping the first few holes and traveling to the back of the tubes? do I even have to worry about that if I size the holes and fans large enough?

You need to calculate the flow outward and have a supply fan with a higher cfm than the total cfm of all holes. Basically the fans cfm determines the number and size of the holes it can effectively run

That way you have positive pressure and the flow will be balanced from the holes

So i'm getting mixed opinions from my friends on this. Do I have so exhaust Co2 at night because plants respirate co2 at night?
I mean i know they do but one friend who runs sealed rooms in washington tells me no. Other friend who grows cbd tells me yes i have to.

What are your opinions on this?

Plant respiration happens all the time, which occurs at the roots. Plants and microbes take in o2 and release co2.

Transpiration only occurs during photosynthesis (small amount during the calvin only) where the plants leaves take in co2 and release o2.

So during the calvin cycle the olants continue to produce co2 but stop consuming it so the levels rise. This is not at all an issue. Levels in my room can exceed 2500ppm depending on plant load overnight. There is almost no gas exchange anyhow.

When the light go on in the morning they will quickly eat up that extra co2.

Now here is something most dont know or understand.

Plants produce about 10x the amount of o2 as co2 they consume. So o2 levels can rise dramatically but we don’t measure that.

How does this effect plants? Is it the co2 or the o2 that results in the difference we see?

Well would you be surprised to know that high levels of o2 can inhibit co2 uptake… thats right. So imo i feel we need to vent the excess o2 and not the co2.

So imo best practice (not a must but going for ideals) would be to cent at the end of lights on and allow co2 to build up over the calvin cycle to be consumed once photosynthesis starts.

This is only my opinion

I mean venting the rooms would be a pain in the ass for me because i would need an additional hvac system. I also see lots of people running sealed systems so it cant be that much of a problem.
