Probably the simplest way.....no electricity....look into it for shits.....maybe giggles if they're there.....

I add perlite to my peat.....works great.....


There are other ways I've yet to trip my way through though.......coco, DWC deep water culture and RDWC recirculating deep water culture are a couple more to look into......
