Mother plant

I was given a mother plant ,he had it on 24 hour light 24/7,
could I reduce the hours slowly ,so I can have it in my clone tent at 18 hours?

It would probably be fine to put it right into 18/6. If you are worried, you could do 20/4 for a few days or a week.
