you know they did the whole committe deal - had meetings, did it pretty organized and well thought out

the main problem ended up being a venue change because of the "subject" the place they originally were gonne use got cold feet and used some fire code loopholes to get out of it

just give yourselves plenty of time and try to use a venue that is enthused or at least behind what your doing

this sounds like a great idea to me.. i want to participate in this for sure. count me in no matter what the date is.. id wager it would be best to keep it simple tho.. first time especially.. maybe an indy and sat. catagory and maybe chem/organic or hydro/soil catagory as well and then a breeders cup for sure..

as far as the whole 1 OZ limit .. maybe if everyone brought a friend with a green card, the friend could also escort an oz with them(of your entry) so each person would be bringing a friend and 2 oz's to the party..

i also think its key that each person get a nice sample of each kind of weed for them to smoke however they want(green hits are key to judging in my book).. each person who enters a strain should get a sample pack with like a gram of each flavor in it to share with their guest... along with a judging sheet for both of you.

Location will be key. Like on private land so nobody can
put a bunch of regulations on the event and kill it !!

Remember Montana has an indoor smoking ban. So the event
almost needs to be outside under tents on private land

What about contacting some of the bigger Bed and Breakfast.....ask about renting the whole location......some are on acreage!

As long as we are all card holders...should not be an issue

I got the spot, the land is private and owned by one of the biggest caregivers and best caregivers in the state, we will have no leo problems that I can forsee over there, not sure about inviting them though, just doesn't really sit well regardless of legality.

Motherlode, yes brother thanks for the input. I am out of town til thursday, I will be setting shit up as soon as I am back and would want nothing more than to have you come out, I guarantee you guest judge status, as you are the type of pro i was referencing to earlier in my posts.

This idea just keeps progressing and getting better, I am so happy with this idea. I forsee no problem smoking on private land, I don't believe the smoking ban applies to this.

Jack Dupp - the documentary would be cool....I am friends with the camera man that filmed cannabusiness that aired on PBS. He is here in the Zoo and currently looking for documentary type projects. I believe he has a line on a recording studio for editing and producing.

I understand that, I feel the same about leo. As far as the mag goes, we can make sure that whoever does not want their picture will not get it, the mag is made up of like minded people and they would not protest to no person photos, they just want to photo the meds.

Hey guys,

I am glad there is a lot of input and opinions.

Maybe the "invite LEO" idea was a little much. But I still think it is something that needs to be addressed. If it is a private party, on private property, and is by invite only, I don't think there would be a need to even alert them. If it turns into a free-for-all with caravans of people congregating like a Rainbow gathering, it will draw some attention.

I'll be in contact with "documentary guy" in a few days. I will inform him there are people who do not wish to be on camera, and we can work something out.
BakedReality - I'll def. tell him about your cameraman friend. I know he already has an office with all the editing equipment available.

Let's keep the ideas flowing.

Past events I've considered entering ranged from 1 to 4 ounces of each type. Whoever is interested in this should be ready to throw weight, and not expect a monetary return any time soon. That usually narrows down the possible entries in my experience.

He is right on this one, since we will not be charging there is no real way to recoup money for product, that is why I think this should be so private, that way one ounce should be able to cover 56 people, I assume that .5 of a gram is enough to judge, do you guys think that is sufficient? If not let me know we can change that too. As far as entries go skys the limit, or as many cards as you have is probably more accurate. I am going to enter at least two varieties. I also think that we might want to do what they do in Amsterdam as far as judging the strains, assign each one a number or letter so that names do not persuade the judging.

The question I have is do you guys think we can do this in one day, or should we make a weekend out of it?

That is a good idea, .5 grams and a weekend event sounds good to me. And the no name thing as well. It will give people a chance to really dig deep in judging it. Its just like when I am chillen with my buddies, and they ask me to taste this strain and guess what it is. Its makes me pay attention and observe more on the smoke and hit that I just consumed, If I know the strain name, tried it, or heard of it, that gives me pre judgments that fog up the true beauty of judging something from the raw essence that it is.

I also believe we should have refreshment stands, and non medicated edibles, snack bar ect... Live music and art is must I believe as well to set setting. I know many musicians with there cards, as well, I am a painter and I know other artist. We could also have some inspirational people in the Montana scene do some speaking, like at the cup, they have certain people big in the scene like soma for example go up and share some good knowledgeable words.

I am way excited, if there is any way I could help please let me know, I have a lot of free time on my hands currently, from recently being unemployed.
