My bagseed baby is 'bleeding'

I went out to pinch the top of my girls today and when I topped my bagseed girl, it 'bled' deep red. I've never seen that before. It kinda freaked me out. Other than the weird blood thing, she is a really healthy pretty plant. Has anyone else ever seen such a thing?

Here are a couple pics. The last one with the flower is just so you can see the color.

Funny. I see a smiley face now too.

I was so freaked out today. Every horror movie I have ever seen came to life today. Plants that bleed = bad news for me. Crazy.

When you cut the stem or leaves, you may see the plant's sap momentarily spurt before the wound is plugged. The sap contains primarily the products of photosynthesis, in the form of sucrose (table sugar). Smaller amounts of materials associated with the living organism such as minerals, amino acids, and enzymes are also present. In marijuana, the sap is usually colorless, although a bright red color - it looks like blood - is not uncommon in later life. The red color is due to haematin compounds and anthocyanin pigments that naturally build up in some varieties. The red color may also indicate a nutrient deficiency, notably of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, or magnesium

I have seen it before (in a Vietnamese landrace).....i think it is a rare phenomenon, but nothing to worry about....

Funny. When it happened I said my prayers to everybody from Jesus to the Earth Spirits. It was the face on my finger that weirded me the worst. Granted I was medicated. :bong-hits::giggle

I hope her buds are as interesting as the rest of the plant has been so far. I'll have to take a baby just in case.

If she comes out cool. I'll have to find a clever name for her. Any suggestions?

Who knew bagseed could be so full of fun suprises:rock
