I agree Sun ...even with the shit Kodak camera I got I was able to take a couple pretty decent photos. Learning the camera settings really helps. I am just learning the basics like shutter speed, flash compensation, exposure compensation, and ISO speed. I think I am gonna get a FujiFilm Coolpix S1000 just for a little better quality. I have seen some amazing photography done with those, and like you said they are only like 100, 150 for the one I want. Thanks for stopping by, your ESCD looks amazing bro!

No a non-sterile enviroment leads to PM. High Humidity just helps it grow.

very true ,, also one tale tale sign that u are or could be over feeding,
and somewere there is a heat issue ,, and sometimes causes the plant to reverse the ATP cycle , expelling gasses and nutrients at the wrong times due to heat issues and plant trying to adapt to the problem,

Plants can not store foods like ppl can, If it is not too excessive the plants tries to adapt to the high fertilized medium it is in ,,
healthy plants can uptake and expel certain amounts threw the leaves , this excess can be sweated (an act of ATP) out of the leaves, and onto other leaves , you ever move a leave and see a wet spot on another leaf it was laying on? This is what im talking about ,the plant sweating ,, In this sweat the ph is balanced ,because it came from the plant ,, and it has to have a balanced ph ,, also in this sweat is nutrients the plants did not use or could not use ,, or the by product of what it did use. This is the start of were PM can and will grow it has the things it needs to grow ,, being a balanced ph medium to grow on ,, and the medium ( being the leaf )
has now a food source ,, ( came from the ATP reacting the sweat contains nutrients ) to use and flourish .

Also PM is systemic to the plant , Once PM is into the plant it is pretty much doomed, U could have gotton a clone from a 3rd party and it had PM , u never can tell!

Taking notes...looking for sweat...have none. some plants are 5 leaves piled on each other touching and none. I have seen this before though usually early flower stage I think...not always...just remember seeing it before sometime somewhere. Never had PM. I will double check myself and be on the look out for any sighns of this. I hope I am not jacking this thread. I jacked the heck out of a different thread and still feel bad. ADHD must of got me....

I am going to organize a thread of my own so I don't run on...I dont wanna be a jacker...lol

True on the cameras. A little lighting and a tri-pod make any old camera take good picts. That cool pix S 1000 looks like it takes awewsome picts. I just wanna Micro Camera for close up trich head shots. They are sooo expensive though it will have to wait for sure.

No worries Fred, this thread really had no topic anyway, just put out some new pics that I took using my old camera with my new tri-pod and some setting adjustments. Ramble away I don't care ... I am pretty laid back

Malachi Im def gonna look into those 430s, Ive seen 430 watt ballasts so I always figured you need a 430 ballast to get the benefits of a 430 bulb. Are you sure that a standard 400 watt ballasts puts out enough extra wattage to power the bulb and utilize the extra lumens? I mean I know that you can run a 600 watt bulb in a 400 ballast but the bulb is just getting 400 watts of power and therefore isnt nearly as bright as it would be in a 600 watt ballast ya know. Have you done anything side by side comparisons or used a light meter ta see if the 430 bulb is def brighter than a standard 400? Im just curious because if you really get the extra 20k lumens the 60 watts is def worth it!
But I do agree that Cervantes sometimes says some things that do seem pretty off! But we all know older growers that have been in the game so long that they get stuck in their ways and all the proof and evidence in the world wont change their minds. I personally know a guy thats been growing 20+ years and hes an absolutely amazing grower but hes got some opinions on things that I know modern science has proven wrong but hes old and you cant tell him nothin! Hes def wrong about some things but that def doesnt take away from the fact that hes an amazing grower ya know. I always hear people knock Cervantes and maybe they know something that I dont but I really cant figure it out. I mean he does say things occasionally that seem to be inaccurate but due to the nearly worldwide ban on herb there seems ta be a lot of info that just doesnt seem to have solid answers, ya know what I mean? Like with most plants theres been a ton of research done on their growth and theres way more solid info and fact on how to grow them right. Common legal plants just have way more black and white info, due to the nearly worldwide ban on herb theres such a lack of research that theres a huge gray area on many different topics. I personally think that Cervantes' Grow Bible is a wealth of info for a beginner, and its a great referance book period. The way he color coded the sections and included so many photos makes it a great book ta keep sittin around any grow room. The only current book I that really compares is Greg Greens 2010 edition Grow Bible, whcih is a great freakin book but without the colored sections it makes quick referecing not as easy. Fuck it Im startin ta ramble! Jus cant figure out why so many people dont give Cervantes any credit. Bottom line is if High Times gave him the job of answering thousands of growing questions hes gotta be a pretty damn good grower. I mean theyre connected with hundreds maybe thousands of very knowledgeable veteran growers, its not like it would be hard for High Times ta find somebody ta smoke pot and accurately answer growing questions, shit you and me could answer most of the questions that are printed in High Times. But in my opinion out of all those qualified growers who would kill for a job like that theyre gonna give the job to the guy that has the best credentials and really knows what hes talkin about right???? DAMN I done wrote another fuckin book on somebodys thread again! HA! Hope ya dont mind Malachi, just always wondered why so many people gave Jorge such a hard time.... just my 2 cents!

Im gonna have ta check out that Coolpix tho, if it takes that good a pics for $150 you cant beat that! I believe it too, I just picked up that new LG Envy touch screen deal and the camera on it is freakin amazing man! If you hold it steady and have some decent light the clarity and detail is amazing. Its even got a macro setting for close ups of "flowers" and what not, Ive been damn impressed with it so far man. Soon as I can figure out how ta upload pics from it Ill post a few for ya ta check out. I got some pics of my mini chocolope pheno that fades ta pink in the leaves during flush that look great!

Chief - Yea the 430 is def. brighter then the 400. The 430 bulb was originally made to work in conjunction with a 400 ballast, but put out more lumens. In fact during my last grow I replaced a 430 with a 400 that I had around, and you could actually see the difference. It wasn't long before I went out and replaced it with a 430 EYE Hortilux. The EYE Hort. bulb puts out the most lumens of all the 430's, it rocks! That chocolope pheno that you have sounds like its the bomb.

I think people give Cerventes such a hard time because a lot of people hold a torch to everything he says like he is a god or something. I know it irritates me when I say something and someone says well Cerventes said this in the grow bible. Its gives the impression that Cerventes knows all and whatever experience you have personally doesn't mean shit and his grow bible is the holy grail for weed farmers. Thats how I feel personally anyway. Like I said before, don't get me wrong he is probally a great guy and his book is good for a starting point, but if you have been growing for years then you come to realize how inaccurate some of his material is.

Yea I would look into that Fukifilm Coolpix S1000, its like 150 bucks and it takes awsome close ups. I haven't bought it yet, but I played around with one at Best Buy and it was amazing for the money. Very simple to use.

41-Day Mark

I was in there messing around so I snapped off a few shots. Picture quality is pretty low, I was in kind of a hurry. I will have finished whole plant shots and buds shots coming right around the corner.

Thanks for the kind words fellows. Will be back with more pictures on day 56-58, these ladies are maturing very fast I may pull out the hatchet then depending on the trich's. I usually let her go to about 60 but the cooler temps I am running is speeding her up a bit.

I was reading your post about running plants till they pop nanners. Doing this has improved all my indica selections except for the Purps. It really seems best around day 48. Any later and it loses some flavor and loses some of it's punch. I actually just realized this. I was going longer and longer trying to improve it. Then I gave up and starting chopping it early. Very high demand for this one so I figured 45-50 days would be better than 60-65 days anyway....and it's surprisingly better that way. First time for everthing I guess.

Yea I just asked if he has ever ran it till it popped nanners. I wasn't suggesting running it till it popped nanners. If I get a new strain that I don't know much about I will run it till it pops nanners, then for the next run I will pull it about 10 days before that.

Absolutely. I have some con going and would like to hear his answer to that one as well. I have never run it before. Anyway, I think it's a real good method and I am looking forward to seeing the ripe shots of that bubblegum!!:):)

Whats happenin Malachi, the pics are lookin damn good my man. And Skunk those are pretty impressive for a camera phone dog. Ill throw up a few pics of my special little chocolope pheno that I took with the camera on my phone. The LG Envy Touch takes some of the most amazing pictures Ive ever seen with a phone, it even has a macro setting designed to take close ups of flowers! Ha! :cool0010:
But what is this Im reading about letting your girls go under 12/12 until they pop nanners to find out the proper harvest time? HUH??? Ive never heard of this, do all strains eventually go hermie on ya after maturing past a certain point? This is def new ta me, whatever happened ta just checkin out the trichs under a microscope fellas?

And here's some porn for you guys, feast your eyes on these beautys fellas! These are of my 1 in a million chocolope pheno taken right before harvest on day 52. Thats right I said day 52! An almost 100% sativa that finishes in 7 weeks and doesnt stretch when flowered.... at all! She's excellent in SOG, in 6 in pots of coco I ran 4 per square foot and averaged 21 grams per plant:boogie:

Oh yea and if anybody knows anything about this pheno please let me know! Ive been all over the net searchin for info about this phenotype and havent found anything. I even hit up DNA Genetics and they said theyve grown 1000s of Chocolope seeds in test runs and have never seen this pheno! So any info would be sweeeeeet!

The first 5 pics were taken at the start of wk 6
Pic 1 how she grows untopped running 4 per sq ft
Pic 3 shows how extremely vigorous she branches when topped just once!
Malachi pic 5 is of the 1st time I flowered her, 2s 400s in a 4x5. Doesnt that growth structure look really similar to Cindy-99?
The last 5 pics were takin the day of harvest, how fucking beatiful is that fade man!!! That is pink fadeism goin on there fellas, some of the most beautiful plants Ive ever seen in the last week.

Enjoy...

Looks good chief. Sounds like you got yourself a nice early finishing Pheno. Looks like C99 a lil bit, I could see how you say so. I prefer a real narcotic type of stone, so I like to run my girls as long as I can. Yes most strains usually will pop nanners when they are over ripe.

Here is a quick shot of my BG 45 days in. She is a sticky bitch. She is getting fresh water from now on. I plan to take her in about 12 days. This was just a quick shot of one of the side buds. I can't fit my tri-pod in my tent to get any real good close ups. When I take her down I will take some ripe photos, and some whole plant shots. I burnt her a little, I had to recalibrate my TDS meter, it was reading 300PPM to low.
