Lol, so......you won't top until you get a clone tent/light??? I don't see the correlation. When you top, simply discard the "topped portion". Letting the bottom nodes to catch up to the top nodes and fill out.

I rarely clone the "topped portion". It's somewhat difficult, takes longer than "bottom plant" clones, and can/will easily outgrow the original plant.

I have done it. After they did root...they were so vigorous and fast. Caught the original plant in size in a few weeks after root.

And we are taking him through his first grow.

He is going to get a feel for cloning using his topped sections from training.

Cloning is tough to get down.
So getting his feet wet with the process early will be good for him.
Even if it is just a cutting in soil in a solo with a Ziploc bag over it.

People are confusing the situation.

"Topping" is when you cut the main growth tip and the 2 new ones on the node grow into 2 new branches.

The upper section you remove from the "topping" process will also be used as the clone.

If you let them grow taller before topping they may start showing sex soon.

He has many people looking out for him right now. We all want him to make it to the finish line wish as much learned as possible.

When training from seed that 1st topping is the best clone for me. Mainly because it still has even nodes. Which means your next round is easy to train still.

I clone the tops with no problems,,, I actually top it and wait for the 2 shoots to appear, then i take that double top as a clone... Erases most of veg....

You also have to consider the strain you're cloning from. Some strains simply root faster than others. You start getting into exotic strains, and heirloom strains things change. A lot of folks never get cloning down.

well its pretty easy... i just take a machette, chop that beotch, throw her in a glass of water, and put her on the widow sill...... lol....
im gonna clone in a sponge just for something to do..
I actually use a dwc cloner
and an old school clone tray with lid/ heat mat/single t5
it all works... just got to start practicing... Ive prob thrown away 10 plants and 20 clones just from experiments..

Im so busy i hardly ever have time to really help somebody so im glad you got lots of ppl willing to help...
It hasnt been said yet, so im gonna throw it out there.. When i look at the plants, i notice something right off... You have way to much stretch on all of the plants... When i normally would tell you to top, im hesitant... Im not for sure if your moving the light around to accommodate all the plants, but if you are, with the light that you are using, no technique will stop that... Its better to leave the light at a certain height and set the pots on different things to even out canopy... Personally i think you need a 400 w mh/hps, and just use this light for clones/moms... I think you should top 2 and 3 and supercrop 1... let the rest just go naturally.... U need practice supercropping, and 1 is a runaway renegade, so she is your test dummy...counting from the bottom up, pinch between the 3rd and 4th node... Gently squeeze untill you hear a lil squish... softening up the stem where you want to make the bend... try not to rupture outside membrane,,, IF YOU DO , PUT SOME TAPE AROUND IT,You want to bend her over so the top is slightly lower than the supercrop point... Just work it slowly, till you get her to do what you want...
