My First Grow! Hydrofarm Setup w/Sun System 150W HPS & Fox Farm Nutes

This is my setup:
2x2x4 Mylar Grow Tent.
150W HPS (Sunsystem)
Hydrotron Grow Medium
Complete Fox Farms Hydro Nutes
Complete Fox Farms Hydro Solubles
Primo PPM Meter
Primo PH Tester

Im currently on my 5th week with this plant. Started out using the Aerogarden but wanted to do shit right! So, I bought this complete Emily Hydro Farm Kit. Which Came with: 2x2x4 Mylar Grow Tent, 150W HPS Sunsytem lighting. ( Im gonna be buy a MH Bulb for this Lamp Fixture ).15lbs of Hydrotron, Hydrofarms Hydroponic System, Light YoYo, Carbon Filter, Inline Fan,Ducting 4 inch, Hygrometer, General Hydroponics 2 Stage Nutes.

Things i added:
30-60 gallon Fish Pump ( Walmart )
4 4inch Air stones ( Walmart )
Rotating Fan ( To keep her dancing )
Primo PPM Meter
Primo PH Tester
1382 PPM Calibration solution
7.0 PH Calibration solution
4.0 PH Calibration solution
PH Down solution
Complete Fox Farms Hydro Nutes
Complete Fox Farms Hydro Solubles

90.7 is way to hot for those ladies though so lower the temp asap

make sure the oscillating fan is always on

Exhaust fan are you using it? I see its listed but dont see it in the tent. Get that thing a crancking

Most important factors!!! Environment "which includes proper lighting from correct spectrum to distance from the plants tops" Humidity must be between 40-60% at all times closer to 40 when flowering. Temperature must be between 70-80 degrees no higher no lower.

You got a great setup going and it just needs a little tweaking. Get a few of those things in check and you will be moving along nicely. Good luck and always remember have a happy growing of a day

Like Pauly said get that exhaust going. When you start flowering your gonna need to keep that humidity down. I lost half of my first crop cause of bud rot do to no ventilation. I'm subbed and here for ya bro. This reminds me to much of my first grow.

Ventilation for those tents I think is key. If you see condensation that means more ventilation.

I dont know what strain. Came out of some really good Hydro Bud my buddy grew. He found 3 Seeds in a full onion, and decided to have me put them to work. If anyone can help me indentify, would be nice. The color on them is beautiful.

Does anyone know where i can buy a MH 150w bulb?

Lowes and Home Depot should have them as well as most hardware stores. They are cheaper versions but should work out well for you since you will be upgrading soon enough

I went to HomeDepot and they only had every wattage except for 150w. My luck. Im gonna go to Ace Hardware tommorrow. Also, when should i start the flowering? Another thing is i want to top her, is it to early? She smells really good ! Just so you know she is in her 5th week. Thanks for the help.

Topping and Cloning

This should be the easiest way:

Just go ahead and top the plant where i showed you in the picture. Once topped the lower branches with grow extremely fast and you can then take your clone from the lowest branch and make a mother plant out of it.

Yes you will need a rooting hormone "powder or gel" both work great. You can get it at home depot

You can run them in your aero garden

No ph adjustment just distilled water at room temp

I use roots excellerator thats it. I feed them once they get roots

Listen to Pauli. Man knows his shit. For rooting gel the only thing I've ever use is oliivia's. Done 4 trays and all were 80%-90% success rate. Now that I know what I'm doing I'm shooting for at least 90%. Good luck with the cloning.

I've decided to no clone this plant, since its a midgrade seed. Im gonna do all my learning from this one. When i start my Blue Widow. Then im gonna clone.

I started my lady on week 5 FF feeding schdeule, and 12/12 lighting. Lets see what happens..

Pauly how long do you usally Veg a plant? Is 5 weeks to soon to start 12/12?

^^^Cuba if u dont have your cloning method down yet I would practice. When the time comes to clone you will thank me for not having to learn on your "good" plant.

She is 5 1/2 weeks old. Thats almost 2 months. I started 12/12 and FF Nutes Schedule for week 5. I started 12/12 because that is what the feeding schedule said. Is it to early. My girl is about 1 1/2 feet tall and not wide at all. Will this hurt my girl? Here are some pictures i took this morning.

Suggested PPM's on the FF Feeding Schedule is 1130. I didnt want to go that high just in case. 5.93 Ph is a little high but not that bad. Any input greatly apreciated. Ohh by the way got the temp down!

Lower your light it seems to be do high. I keep my light at 12" from canopy. Lower it to where you feel comfortable. You can place your hand under the light and if your hand gets too hot then its to hot for the plants

During flowering your plants will want a slightly higher PH. So you should be ok on that reading. Check your PH daily for sure. It changes from day to night

For feeding make sure your feeding them on the week 1 feeding schedule for flowering. Not week 5

You wont yield much but at least you will yield something. Next time veg her out way longer. Now if you had those other pots filled with plants then this would be a perfect time to start flowering. So remember that

Paulie, thanks for the quck reply. I lowered the light to 12 inches above plant. I did that a week ago. Right after i topped here. Which by the way was a complete success.

As for the feeding im on Week 5 of the FF feeding schedule which is the week i started the 12/12 as instructed by the Feeding schedule. My next grow im gonna veg for a least another month. I want to see what result i will get with VEGN for 5 weeks only..

A buddy of mine got me some Kushadelic Beans that im gonna start as soon I'm done with the expierment.

These pictures are a week old already. She has grown quite a bit since then. As soon as i lowered the light she shot up about 1/2 inch a day. She is growing very quickly.

I also did some triming to expose the bottom nodes to some light.

Thanks man. Im trying. Its not as hard as people make it out to be. Thanks to this forum, I've been some what successful. I really apreciate all the input and support you guys have given me. Thanks again.
