My First Grow - Multiple Strains from Clones

Side by side in the same tent. I want to see how each does. Two different strains, 4 plants. One of each strain under each light. Should be interesting.

I'm growing outdoor, so the lighting doesn't apply to me. As a first time grower, I definitely have other things to worry about. I was researching trellis and came onto this post. I'm trying to decide on using a trellis vs using a cage, or potentially both (even though my funds are running out for this project).
I dealt with gnats at the beginning. I was having growth issues with most of my plants and almost lost my favorite strain. When I came to repot from 5 galon to 30, my heart dropped when the entire soil fell apart. The gnat larvae had eaten up most of the roots. The only thing that saved me was beneficiary nematodes to get rid of the gnat larvae, & beneficiary bacteria to strengthen up my roots.

Scanmask Spray | BioLogic Company

Scanmask treats the widest variety of pest insects and is our recommended product when treating for multiple pests and as a preventative treatment. Our Scanmask Spray is easy to apply using the Nema-Jet Sprayer, watering cans, pressure or injection sprayers.

My "general" takeaway from what I've read is that the COB's are more well regarded for canopy penetration while the boards are generally said to have more uniform light distribution. I'll be interested to see your results

Having a few issues...think might be related to letting the boxes get too dry/underwatering but would appreciate anyone with more experience's input. Have some clawing/crinkling of the tops of my Skywalker OG plants, and some general drooping with the rest of them. Also, a couple leaves are showing some light spotting. Pictures below.

The clawing/crinkling:

The spotting:

Also - wondering if anyone has enough experience with fungus gnats to tell me whether this is a large accumulation for a 24 hour period:

Did you ever diagnose your leaf issue? Have you looked into leaf septoria? It also looks like it could be the start of ca deficiency. Keep an eye on them. I’ve heard gnats are common with the type of medium your growing in. Sticky traps are key.

I think I burnt them spraying with the lights on, and combined that by with over-watering with a compost tea. I let the boxes dry out quite a bit and then added some Dolomite Lime (basically organic CalMag). They're turning the corner quite nicely now, darkening and perking back up. I was super worried for a minute there. Also partially because I'm super concerned about the stretch now. Spent too long in Veg trying to get ahold of this gnat issue and they're taller than I wanted. Pics below.

On the gnats - a friend recommended I mix some neem seed meal in with some compost and put a layer of that on top of my boxes. Straight cut the new gnat production to about 1/5th overnight. STOKED on that. Picking up my new lights and flipping these ladies

The right side starting to darken back up:

Skywalker OG's and Ghost Breath OG's just doing their thing:

My concern now is if I run out of headspace in the stretch - any recommendations to help w/ that? Better view of height of plants vs headspace:

I’ve got my light hanging prettY much next to my exhaust filter. They are about 6-8” from the top of tent. Lights are about 15” from top of canopy. Looks like you have quite a bit of head space. I’d slowly raise the lights as the plants stretch. This might prevent such a fast stretch but remember stretch = yield.

Got the new Timber Daisies in the tent, ready to flip! Just did a quick and dirty job to get them turned on and check functionality. I'm way too AR to leave the cabling this way so don't judge me by the current mess.

Even Baphomet approves of the remote driver mounting kit.

The Trio:

Well, well, well. We are timber bro’s now. You’re going to kill it. That’s a decent amount of light right there.

Unfortunately there's some foreshortening going on in that picture. The lights are probably 12-18" from the roof currently but only 12" from the plants. I think it's likely that I'll end up with less than the recommended 18" between the lights and the canopy. I'll have to take some measurements, hoping I'm wrong =\

Regretting not ponying up the cash for the Gorilla tent like yours now. Could just buy the extension and get it cracking. Gonna have to do that next run.

Definitely bite the bullet and get the GGT. The quality compared to the vivosun is basically not comparable lol. I don’t have the extension yet and I still have about another foot or so before I was going to start worrying. If you have to, you can always bend some of the larger branches sideways.

I'm gonna have to do some kinda training to compensate. I let them go too long, plain and simple. This many plants in one 4x4 tent shoulda flipped sooner. I'm stoked tho I'm still pretty confident I'm going to have some quality herb and I've learned a lot for the next run

Hell yeah. You definitely got a good thing going. I am going to flip sooner next run as well and hoping I can source some trustworthy clone cuts locally to speed up the process as well. Where do you source your cuts from?

Nice I’ve smoked some gushers. Good smoke. Next run for me is lemon wookie glue and quest. Two of each in the 4x4. 4 plants total

There's a place that's actually probably not too far from you, since I'm north San Diego and you're OC right? Google Map Hidden Valley Clones/Hidden Valley Genetics. Or if you feel like making a road trip slide up in my DMs man we could probably collaborate.
