My harvest window is about to begin

Amber happens in small patches at first, once it starts it moves reasonably quickly.

Your basically waiting for this point then everyday you'll see more and more little patches.

I look for that not single trichs, with good eyes you shouldn't need a scope to see the change happening as parts will start looking golden.

It can be a long wait....

Some pics of a few buds:

Could be me, reflection, camera angle, refraction etc but looks like you got some amber patches on some leaves already as shining golden in the picture.

Of course if you grabbed the leaves or there was any damage trichs have a tendency to amber but possibly you might find some amber patches there to start

Yeah, I am thinking it may be sometime this week when the "ambering" begins. Will be getting pictures every other day or so until then. Then pictures every day until harvest.

Week 10 just started today. Estimated harvest date has been 9/28, but may need to wait more. The other 3 plants in the same grow will definitely need longer than this plant. I will start posting their pictures here after this one is harvested.

There definitely are some amber trichomes on the sugar leaves. That is what originally gave me the hint that my harvest window is coming up.

Put ice on them for the last week every night put a big handful of ice on the top, making sure to keep away from stem and as long as your pots aren’t already drenched. Dont haave to worry about nutes at this point I think…

Yeah, the recent cooler temperatures and me dropping frozen water bottles in the reservoir are no doubt causing the color changes.

Trichomes are definitely maturing slower than anticipated, but I think I will still harvest this one on Sunday. Clear trichomes are still there, but becoming more rare. Hopefully by Sunday it feels like "where's waldo" when looking for clear trichomes.

I took more trichome videos and will post the screenshots tomorrow. As I was taking them I did see that amber trichomes are becoming more noticeable.

I decided that Tuesday would be a better day to harvest since that is when the outside temperature cools down again, with highs under 70f for 3 days and then 75f and under for at least a week. This will help me maintain a better temp for the hang dry.

Shot some more trichome videos just over an hour ago. Will pick out the best frames tomorrow morning. All buds can definitely go longer, with some I would place in the early harvest window. Lots of milky on all buds. Some clear on the buds that could use another week. Maybe I will harvest the most ripe branches tomorrow and the shock will help speed up the other branches so they can be harvested within a few more days.

What does everyone think of the maturity in the previous set of trichome pics? I'm seeing some images with 50/50 clear/cloudy and then some with nearly all cloudy with the rare yellowing/amber. Some images got deep in the bud and those tend to have more clear as expected.

The new images I post tomorrow will show more yellowing/amber. I also did a heavy defoliation of upper leaves to prepare for harvest which probably also contributed to the increase in amber. If I can find images of the same trichomes I will post them together for a good comparison.
