i have only about a year of tinkering and up-scaling (started off with two 6" CoolTubes in a 4x8 tent and went onward from there).

currently i am in a 10.5'x11.0' bedroom with four Growlite OG Vertical hoods running 8" double-ply black ducting through twin 8" CAP Valuline fans & up into the attic with the outlet. 12,000 BTU Tripp-Lite (pc rack/server air conditioner) is keeping everything at 72 degrees F all the time. Titan Saturn 3 Environmental Controller regulates the CO2 and kicks the high-heat shutoff, heater (dark photo period) and additional fans/dehumidifiers. a Titan 4-ON/4-Timed power strip timer kicks my end wall fan & the Titan Helios 11 which fires the four 1000 Watt Radeon Digital Ballasts. finally i have a 65-pint LG Dehumidifier mounted up high which is run from the outlet below my GRO1 digital timer for the exhaust fans.

my veg room is just side-by-side closets which i removed the wall from between, creating a 5.5'x11' room. in there i installed a couple Muscle Rack shelving systems and a couple coated-wire seasoning racks to hold my 55gal horizontal r.o. reservoir & watering pump (and assembly/wand etc.) as well as nutrients and such.

this is officially 'round 1' for the new room and for myself as a completion, as i have been too eager to upgrade in the past, never having gotten a completed roundd out - rather passing along the juveniles and clones to other growers when i was in whatever state of disrepair. lol.

i presently have under the big lights:
8 'God Bud' from BC Bud Depot
1 'White Russian' from Serious Seeds
1 'Black Russian' from Delicious Seeds
and 6 'White Indica' from Ceres Seeds

let you know how they turn out - respectively - once they finish & cure out. thanks :blackalien:

Wow Damn.. youz a fast grower you am huh....that's a sweet looking setup I'm totally green with envy....now be patient and enjoy the fruit of your labor.
I'll probably never leave my 5by5 tent but I loves me some fruit cooked right....

Yeah Nice room!! Im subbed to see more!

I'm curious about the gear. Why is everything black? What are those things on the hoods?

Clean setup, everything looks great! Looks like we're just in time for the show!

how are you liking the og vert's?
the vertical OG's are great if you know how to balance the light distribution because they are VERY focused. i am currently transitioning into weeks 6 & 7 and have decided to back off from 1000w down to 600w to simulate the changing of the season, as several of the GodBud have begun forming 'hash tips' and my only BlackRussian is now fox-tailing.

the black boxes atop the hood allow for the bulb to be positioned vertically rather than traditional horizontal fan-cooled hoods... it houses the mogul outlet for the bulb and actually stays quite cool. i went with black everything just for appearance sake, once the vertical hood was chosen, so that it would just match up better & any light leaks would be more obvious than with reflective, single-wall ducting.

Seriously clean setup, I do like the black decorator motif, lol.

Those hoods are impressive- I understand they work better if they're higher up, this from some friends at a local grow shop where they test everything they sell.

There is some pretty serious money wrapped up in your gear already, too- I'm curious about the process by which you made your purchase decisions regarding lighting, hydro/soil and environmental control systems.

What kind of equipment people use and how they use it is interesting to me, so why they choose the products they do is a never-ending source of fascination for me!

Where is your humidity level? Room temp? EC of feeding solution? That looks like it could be tip burn.

i keep the room at 72 degrees F usually.
the soil is Sunshine #4 mix.
i use Humboldt Nutrients (so far) and have been alternating week-to-week between the 3-part & the Oneness (to fill in any gaps or shortcomings).
the r.o. is balanced to about 6.2 - 6.5 after the nutes are mixed - i have not yet started into any foliar applications but may on future rounds.
Hortilux EYE HPS bulbs &Titan controls.
humidity has been adjusted per stage of growth around 45-55%.

just recently i have started adding some 'Better Than CO2' into my nutrients for direct carbon uptake via the roots (versus throwing 2 additional parts of oxygen at the leaves) and the girls seem to be thriving on it, as i have all but eliminated the CO2 tank's necessity - it's going away after this round i think, freeing up an extra few hundred $$$'s between the solenoid & tank & sensor purchase(s). the cost-effectiveness of the 'BTCO2' should be about the same when the system jives up like it should.

I'm going to reserve judgement on the co2 thru the soil thing, in part because I don't run soil. I noticed that the plants with the most yellowing leaves to be the ones directly under the hoods. This leads me to my guess that raising those hoods will help you.

I will bet that the burn you are seeing is due to a combination of intense light and overabundance of nutrients. The problem with soil is that once you have charged it with nutes and microbes, you do not have a lot of control over it. Instead of messing with the soil however, I suggest you raise your humidity to about 60% at 72F, or even better yet see if you can get to 78-80F and 70% humidity. The former will help growth, co2 absorption and alleviate top burn at 72F; the latter will do all the above, plus grow 30% faster.

what is that monster in the middle back of that more recent pic?

that is the White Russian from Serious Seeds... a touch on the fluffy side but i believe the sativa influence there is the culprit in this particular pheno - i got it from a single feminized seed. the remainder are all (allegedly) indica-heavy and are much tighter & squattier (is that a word? lol).
