Right now Im germinating couple of DragonBlood tree seeds aswell. As you can see the seeds are huge. They been soaking in water for 48h now. One of the seeds I sandpapered gently, heard it would help with the germination, we see. Going to plant them in soil tomorrow.

Here a look of the Sequoiadendron Giganteum seeds aka redwood aka the largest living organism on the planet for comparison. They are so tiny and fragile, its insane these become so huge and live 4000 years. I put them into germination or stratification as its called couple of days ago, some soil mixed with vermiculite and the seeds and put in the fridge, the germinating process takes 2-3 months.

@EyeRedMan Btw I used to only use papertowel method before with about 80-90% sucess rate but since switching to soaking them first 12-16 hours and then papertowel my germination rates spiked up to 100% If they dont germinate now then its something wrong with the seed. The presoak is realy good and they germinate much faster.
The reason is because theres diffrent stages in the germination process. First the soaking until they sink or until 24h max has passed, usualy takes about 12 hours. And then putting them in paper/towel because as soon as the seed crack open and the root starts coming out they need oxygen and can drown if they are completly soaked. When using papertowel make sure the paper is not soaking wet, not water should be dripping just moist enough for the roots not to dry out. Put it a warm place, I germinate everything above my fridge were its like a free heating mat.

@OdlaFett I guess i would be giving the paper towel method a try again. Tried it several times in the past when I begun growing but i couldn't manage to pop even one seed lol. So now I just stick to soaking in water and sowing directly in soil. That gave me some results, eventhough it's a 50/50 success rate, it was better than nothing so I've stuck with it over the years. My next batch of seeds for this month i would give the paper towel method a try once more. I get my seeds from seedsman, and based off reviews from their site, I don't think it's the seeds, and also i buy from different breeders, so i am probably just not doing something right. Thanks for the info though

i do the same as odlafett, except with a twist,i find it helps a lot especially with older seeds to use a little peroxide in the shot glass for about 4 hours and let them soak helps with stuborn shells and lossen them ,the i take a shot glass with reg water and put them in until i get a tail ,once the tail shows ,in paper towel to i get about 1/2 in to inch long tail and plant,if you take the seed and put in a cd case and stand straight up while the seeds germs the tails will come out straight from the use of gravity

Not these ones, they just want about 4 Celcius to think its authum so a fridge will do fine. Haha I hope man. Gonna Keep her tiny though as a bonsai.

Excuse me mods, I have a very humble question; how do I change my name to "TheMFKingOfGermination" Or maybe "TheGerminator2:The RiseOfThePlants" :P
Naaw but fo real all my seeds germinated and are now in Veg. Some Critical autos, Great white shark autos, 2 critical mass that going into DWC and that amnesia auto. Some planted in soil but most of them in pure coco coir.
AND even my catnip and mango tree seed germinated! This my temporary veg chamber i keep the lights on 24/7 here.

This the catnip, my cat is gonna get so high and paranoid hes about to shit himself !

Look at this cute lil mangotree seed and look at the size of that root! Hope I planted her the right way not sure, well see!

And this my flowering chamber, its been 1 week today since I flipped them. the SCROG nets are filling up nicely and the plants look pretty happy. Dont mind the blackbars in the pic its from the magnetic HPS ballast and the colouring is off they much greener in real light:

Heres a better pic of the girls in flower. They becoming monster, drinking more than half a gallon a day. Cant wait to defoliate the shit out of them them in 2 weeks, i swear thats my favorite part about growing, that 3rd week defoliation, they gonna be begging me to stop but they acctually love it!

I never grown roses, you? Didnt know that but not suprised alot of plants have this survival instinct of stratification. If they germ right before the vinter without making new seeds the whole spieciec is doomed :D

Btw had a neighbour that used to make lemonade out of roses, tasted incredible!

Also heard to only run it a couple of hours a day and not 12h, 2hours on 6of and then 2more on, starting at about week 6.

Also heard its realy damaging to the eyes
