My Little Mutant Bushes

Hi everyone, this is my first post and my first ever grow. I wanted to get some advice on my three little mutant bushes. When I germinated them we got hit by a massive heat wave (high 40c) and I'm very surprised they made it through high temps without any air con. Even though they look pretty healthy they're so stumpy and short, and are heaps bushy underneath. Is this the result of heat stress in their earlier lives?

I'd clean up the lower and inner stuff to allow more air flow.
