Derk,For every one you see there are at least 10 others you dont and i hate to say it but they definitely are in those premium buds, thats where the moths lay them and they hatch and live. The moths lay eggs(little white dots) in the premium tops and when the eggs hatch the worms bore right into the bud and live there getting fat on the sweetleaf. The damage actually comes from them shitting in your bud, look for dried out leafs/hard spots and areas that look like bud rot. You'll be ok just keep picking and smashing those bastages.Get yourself some monterey BT(bacillus thuringensis) next year and do preventative sprays but at this stage you might want to visually scan your plants for budworms a couple times a day and pick them off with with something,i use a bamboo shish kebab skewer, you will find the worms concentrated in your best colas.I had them hit me this year too so your not alone but i was a bit further out than you are now. They say you can spray BT up to 24 hours before harvest but it actually takes a few days after they ingest it to start working and i dont like spraying anything if i can help it when your getting close. With the cooler moister weather the last few days you should be winding it up real soon.
