Sheeeiiit. Mix some Sulphur powder and some diatomaceous earth and put a layer on the top of the soil. That should help keep them from breeding.Got a better scope today. Confirmed root aphids-shit.
Will bti kill them? I've heard yes and no..Sheeeiiit. Mix some Sulphur powder and some diatomaceous earth and put a layer on the top of the soil. That should help keep them from breeding.
It should kill the larvae with a bacterium. Where as the Sulphur and the DE act like glass and poison. But the plant likes it. You could do all three and cover all bases. Apparently not all BT is the same. So it would specifically say for the pest you have. Root aphids are newer to the area. So maybe not. Will bti kill them? I've heard yes and no..
I'm almost positive they are in the bag of cocoloco. Whether they were in it when I bought it or not-idk.Just wondering how you could get bugs with only 4 small plants?
Root aphids in cocoloco? Wow! That's scarey as root aphids are quick killers. I've seen fungus gnats in stuff that has wood in it but root aphids!?!?I'm almost positive they are in the bag of cocoloco. Whether they were in it when I bought it or not-idk.
Well I just soaked half a cup of cocoloco out of the suspect bag. I dont see any movement so far. I'll keep it isolated and wet for a few days to see if anything hatches..Root aphids in cocoloco? No my $40 phone won't work. The way I know for sure is they have what look like 2 little antenna one on each side of the butt. You got a pic? Fungus gnats are much more common and also winged and black but with a different head.
Ah yes.No my $40 phone won't work. The way I know for sure is they have what look like 2 little antenna one on each side of the butt.
Sunday I put some cocoloco from the bag in question into a solo cup, soaked it and closed it in a ziplock bag. Didn't see anything moving until today. Now the little bastards are hatching. Confirmed RA in the cocoloco.Ah yes.
I can't say if they were in the bag when I bought it or if they found a way in after I opened it. Next bag I'll get from a different store and do a test cup in a baggie from now on. In fact I'm gonna do a test on everything from now on.That is so messed up! I wonder if they also sell stuff to get rid of them? What a racket that would be!...great job confirming.
