And for the grow update today is the 3rd day of week 2 there is nothing too exciting going on yet just a few calyxes popping but its nothing to write home about, at least not yet... Anyway here's a few pics... The canopy is filling in hardcore and they have stretched about 12" so far I also have clipped the bottom pieces of shit that spit the popcorn buds and left a few leaves.

Found these clear PVC inline filters...they are kinda pricey but being able to "see" inside the filter is PRICELESS!

Those are nice. Not sure I would want clear though. I just picture that turning green with algae.

Not sure on the 'real' difference. The UC's come with the Y strainer. Price maybe? Maintenance? Flow rate?

I don't think mesh size really matters. You aren't filtering 'the water', just trying to keep hydroton and roots from clogging up your pump yet still allow water to pass through.

All the holes are covered and thank you it's been fun so far for sure. I haven't had an algae problem yet. I'm sure the flowers will be primo as I have some extremely good genetics. They probably won't yield too much but the flowers are gonna be retarded for sure. Then again who knows I've never done this cut in hydro and nether has anyone else I know who also have the cut. It is always done in dirt or coco. I'm the first person out of the 3 people I know of who have this cut (myself included in the 3 people) to run a bubba hydro crop and I am the first to put hg to this shit in any medium. I'm really excited it's about to be a mystery to everybody until it's over with on what the end is about to be. I like the fact you guys are here for the ride it puts more pressure on me to not be lazy and get shit done when it's suppose to. As for the roots that's gonna have to wait unil they come down as they are too big now to be fucking with just to try and take some pics of the roots. I promise I will take some root pics in about 6 weeks for you though. They are all white and are taking the shape of the bucket now if that helps though. Stay tuned I'll be posting more pics soon.

Yeah clear filter + retarded amounts of light = algae outbreak that will clog your filter. The black filter is where it's at and you can close the shutoff valve and unscrew the top half of the filter housing to see the same thing it only takes 2 seconds to pull the filter out and clean it.

Exactly... The filter is crucial though it already saved my ass so all you original uc owners who don't have one I suggest you get one they are super easy to install just make sure you Teflon tape all connections.

I would just sit the clear filter inside a another cup so light dont hit it, but you can still easily do a visual inspection

Update day 1 week 3:

There are little buds forming everywhere now and the plants still look great... As you all know I have been having ph swings in the upward so after talking to rob from hg and dan from cch2o I decided I was going to flush my system as recommended and start from scratch. Today also happens to be a magic green day. I sprayed the shit out of all my plants from top to bottom so much a lot of them fell over but perked back up in a few minutes except for 1 the whole thing fell over and has yet to stand back up and the lights been on for hours so I'm like WTF you little bitch how dare you lay down and mess up my perfect canopy like this... I tied them up with chicken wire and made use of the chains hanging down from my lights to prop them up... Foliar feeding makes your stems really soft I see because they are still flimsy as ever and being that there is buds on there now I can't stomach them not getting no light. I have never had a plant just straight up lay all the way down like that using this shit so far... In the process of trying to get shit right I also lost about 5 good size perfect fan leaves from me being a little rough which sucks major balls but it's ok they will live I just hope my canopy doesn't get fucked up from this I'm really upset right now. Makes me mad I didn't go grab the tomato cages like I started to what a jack off I am. Oh well.

On the upside though everything still looks beautiful and they should be back in action here shortly I'll post pics of the garden when I get done flushing.

So I know I said I was gonna wait till I was done flushing but I didn't feel like waiting I thought right now would be a cool time to take pics since they are all drooping everywhere after their super heavy foliar feeding earlier. All tops that aren't pointing straight up in the fallowing pics are all drooping branches and are being held up. Most of the stems are still wet to the touch after 4 hours so I think they definitely absorbed the magic green which kicks ass. Look at the giant holes in the canopy.

All the tips got burned from me letting the uc go with out a top off and the ppm spiking. I knew I was going to be flushing so I just let them drink up whatever they could while the fresh water was filling up I was going to flush with. The tip burn was the result ppm shot up like 200 ppm over the last day from not topping off. Overall everything is still good besides that and a few twisty leaves from ph swinging but its all good.

All pics are taken approx 4 hours after magic green and about 9 hours of flushing with ro water & drip clean.

Just to be correct, the inline filter that CC uses is a 30 mesh screen size. The mesh size needs to be correct so you do not "bottleneck" your return flow.

If I dont top off mine ppms always drop. I think your nutes are to high from the start you shouldnt need the top off to keep the ppm stable I always want to see mine go down with or with out top offs.

Hey farmers... Today my daughter picked up my laptop and next thing you know it works again! I don't know what she did but it is back in full effect... so...

I came on here first thing and realized how blurry my pics looked on the computer (they look crystal clear on my iPhone) so I figured now would be the time to upload some new ones especially because when you transfer them through the ipod cable to the pc they keep their High def quality so here you go.

All pics are just after my day and a half flush of r/o water.

Filled back with 1/2 strength week 3 nutes and 1/2 strength multi zyme and 3/4ml calmag per gallon. I also reduced part a by 20% to help tip the npk ratio to more pk then N. Here it is... PH is at 6.3 as of right now but I am sure its from the extra r/o water that was still in the system from the flush lets see if I can keep this bitch stable now. I also filled my top off res with 2/3 strength week 3 nutes with a 20% cut on part a and 3/4ml calmag per gallon... I set that ph at 5 to bring the ph in the uc back down. If that works correctly I will make all top off buckets at 5.8 from here on out and hopefully that will keep it locked.
