I did the same with beeswax to the same branches, healed completely in 1 week, all natural.man I've taped together branches that completely snapped holding on by 1/16" of skin on one side and got them to bounce back. What I've found works best that i had laying around is that aluminum foil tape you use for ducting. It's sturdy enough to hold the branch in the correct position and sticky enough to keep right in place.
