was just thinking about my strategy and coming here and what- BudRanger is sprouting under spiderfarmer
I am planning 30" 100W from starters. Live or die kinda situation think I will burn them?

It would be about that time for you yep haha. I usually sprout my seeds around week 3 of flower. Sometimes my plants in flower would not be finished in time, so I would flip my veg tent instead of extending veg. Then when my girls in flower would finish a week or 2 later, I would move the girls from veg into the flower chamber lol. A little bothersome, but it works.

Hahaha I was going to put them under my small LED light, but the only tray that can contain all my plants is so large it totally fills the small tent, so I thought to hell with it, Ill start them under my SF in my 4x4 . Usually I would be giving them 50w about 10 inches above, a small LED seedling light. Because these lights are pretty spicey I am choosing to start at 30" and on 100w, I figured that would be the safe place to start.

Don't worry I will let you know, I will be keeping a very close eye on them. I have a tape measure in the tent ready so I can make sure I don't end up with a green leaf ontop of a noodle .

lol Sadly I cannot, I have to be thrifty with seeds because out of everything I can obtain it is only seeds that is my limiting factor that must be so weird to hear, but its true. About a decade or more ago all of our seed banks got raided by feds within the span of a few months, and new seed banks do not survive long. Where I am I had to go through a lot to get seeds, so every seed has to count towards a pheno hunt OR breeding, as I have regs for future breeding projects too.

LOL I probably could get away with it, I do have a number of freebies! But my 2 jars of seeds are like my Noahs Ark . When I stopped growing I still had packs of seeds. A few years later I tried to sprout them, and they didn't pop so I just gave up before I even started. I have my new seeds recently purchased and fresh stored properly to avoid that happening again. I am going to buy a very small bar fridge when it starts warming up, because most of the packs I wont be touching for 2-3 years at the least, and a fridge seems to be the best option for long term storage. One of the pros here keeps seeds for 5-10 years in his fridge.

Week 4, day 1!
Its been another week, so I turned the light up by 5%, it is now on 65%. My plants are only 3 full weeks into flower, day 1 of week 4, so they have plenty of time. This strain will easily go to week 9, probably week 10 or more.

I took some bud shots.

I noticed some purple on some of the pistils. I went into the Discord server of the breeder and fetched pictures of other peoples "Grifter" plants in flower. No cause for panic. Its a strain quirk, and the weird thing? This 1 guy has a Grifter that looks just like my left plant.

These next 3 pictures are not my plants, they belong to discord users who also grew Grifter. As you can see some of the pistils are purple as well.

Grifter at week 8 by another user, their pistils also have purples.

Say hello to the babies. They are all going to make it, all 8 seedlings. A few of them still have to fully open up, but they made it.
Humidity dome is off, seedling mat still keeping the roots warm.
LED is 30" above the seedlings and turned up to 20% which is just under 100w. Keeping a close eye out for any stretching.

I am pretty confused because she seems to be the happiest, lets hope its just a weird pheno quirk that makes her pale. This is a better look at the stacking by the way, I forgot I had too many images last post.

Week 4, day 27.
It has been another 4 days and the girls drank another 4 litres each. I added the rhizo product to this water as the chart calls for just rhizo before the next top dress is added. From what I am reading I think the rhizo helps the roots uptake the top dress+fertilizers remaining in the soil. I am going to top dress again on the 10th which will be the last day of week 4 so it starts kicking in during week 5.

Some really fun news. Bud sites are starting to put on weight and putting on frost. They started swelling over night.

I will have to take a few leaves off each plant tomorrow. When watering I noticed there is a small few directly blocking large bud heads (not just lower nodes), but there are only a few. I didn't want to do it on water day, so I will do it tomorrow and take pictures of before and after.

Babies are happy. Some of them have short stems, some of them a little longer, but none of them are stretching yet or burning. They dried out the soil so they had a small drink today, but I have yet to fully saturate because they are still too young for that. On the 11th they will be 1 week old from popping their leaves, so I will give them a full saturation then.

Haha thank you my friend! Today it really surprised me, they just chunked up over night.

Same same right now no change. So when I adjusted the light, the LED was 30" away from the humidity dome, which I removed and now the seedlings have popped are at that same height because my pots are a bit larger this time, so still 30" from the light.
LED is on 20%, which is 100w.

Guys. Look. I went under the canopy to the other side of the left plant, and I found 2 pieces of evidence!!!! 1 yellow leaf, and 1 yellowing leaf, its not much and its all that was there, but this is evidence right?

What do we think? Is this a sign of "I AM A HUNGRY PHENO"? 1 is totally yellow, the other is about 1/3 yellow. These 2 fan leaves were at the bottom of the left plant, and they came right off with no resistance. The other 2 phenotypes have no yellowing at all.

Again this is from the pale plant. Could it be possible that this pheno demands more food? All plants recently got fertilizers and are due for their top dress feed on the 10th. Should I give this girl an extra scoop or something? There were no other yellowing leaves on the plant, and the other 2 phenotypes have no yellowing either.

I was thinking about giving her 6 scoops instead of the 5 that is suggested. But you are right about them being cut off. Both of those leaves just fell off when I tugged them, and they were heavily shaded and at the very bottom of the plant. I could just be stressing looking for something wrong her colour has me on edge.

I think if everything is proper she wouldn’t be doing that if the others are fine.
Soil may be more moist than the others.
Ph on her could be off from root zone problems or just in general.
I think Ph or lockout on a small level or a deficiency of Phosphorus whether from feed, inability to access it (possible calcium excess blocking phosphorus or too many positive ions taking up space in the soil), or locked out too wet.

This is a hydro example: I had a girl once that dropped a lot of leaves and had edge burn and yellowing. It ended up being nutrient lockout from high PPM and a creeping up Ph, I had a phosphorus lockout due to running too hot of nutrients. Backed down the nutes and Ph and deficiency corrected. She stopped dropping leaves and burning. In hydro you don’t worry about overwatering really, so soil has to consider waterlogged in the equation. It wasn’t a deficiency as much as it was a lockout in this example.

My current grow doesn’t have as much excess foliage as I did a lot better this time defoliating. But I have zero leafs turning yellow or dying off. Creeping on week 6. My point is, it shouldn’t be happening. Discoloring due to display of colors from temp drops is a-ok. But if not flushing, those leafs are telling you something.

Might as well give a photo dump of the left plant in question, see if anyone notices anything. Under the canopy it was 2 larger fan leaves, the rest are the same colour as the rest of the plant.
