Planted seed Easter Sunday. Miracle grow seedling. Bag seed strain unknown. Under vipar spectra light. Only water. Looking to transplant them maybe add some nutes. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
My first suggestion would be get out of the miracle grow and get into some good soil, what local stores do you have? You’ll get a million suggestions for what to use, but I’d rather know what you have local access to, what’s your budget to spend on it all? Local grow stores? Hydro shops? Is there a Home Depot near you? I believe they carry FoxFarm products. Its worth looking into for either Happy Frog or Ocean Forest.
I tried the mendards store brand professional potting mix last year for vegetables and I didn't like it. Food for thought there ...
Do not purchase if bag is ripped and repaired or if it weighs a ton like it got wet.Found a store that says they carry it. I'll go tomorrow and see if they have it for sure
Thank u for that infoDo not purchase if bag is ripped and repaired or if it weighs a ton like it got wet.
I have perlite I put it in the miracle grow.cudos to u, and ur infoI use fox farms both the Happy Frog and the ocean forest in a 50-50 mix plus 3 cups perlite for drainage. If you want to keep all Organic in veg they also make a good soil conditioner to topdress the grow. Nothing but water and no pH checking until you start a flower nutrition. Then you should be correcting PH if the nutes go into the water.
Do not count on a $20 pH pen for your grow, it will break your heart.
You are gonna love it here

Goi heavy on the perlite. I tested some Kellogs Patio Plus and mixed in 30% perlite. Terrible growth. I'd mix in as much as 60% perlite, 40% soil.I have perlite I put it in the miracle grow.cudos to u, and ur info
Out the bottom threw a grateWhere do those cups drain? Difficult to see.
@Captspaulding gave some helpfull advice about stiring the top inch or so of the soil.![]()
I let them get real dry. Just watered today.Wait until you get the new soil. Transplant and set up your nutrition and watering with a plan. If you choose fox farms it has nutrition for 3- weeks but staying organic means timing your nutrition support. Water carefully. Most new growers overwater. Hard to dry out a pot plant enough to hurt it but the small ones are more tender.
