Need Big & Chunky Perlite or Substitute

Hey guys!

Trying to find Big & Chunky Perlite but it's back ordered everywhere I call. Some machine broke or something...

Is there a equivalent size perlite out there from a different company? I hate that tiny #3 stuff.
Or maybe an alternative medium that works as well? I'm doing Hempy buckets.

it is on back order because the mine where foxfarms gets its big and chunky perlite from is having issues with demand being much more then supply, use hydroton as a substitute in your hempy buckets

Yes, T. Called 20 stores, bg was 1st one the list. Called Foxfarm directly, they explained that the B&C perlite is a byproduct from something else, that's why shipments are very irregular. Just found a store that say they'll get it by Friday... let's hope he wasn't lying :)

I typed that way because it looks that way on the bag.
Full disclosure: I have never use B&C.
I wanted it but it has never been available to me.
This is, and from pictures, I think it is the same size.

Pahroc Giant #4 is huge as well.

You might try vermiculite or even play sand will work in a pinch. Those bags of crumbs that pass for pearlite just don't work very well.
