Hello all,
I have 2 plants that are 2 weeks from seed. They’re under a HLG 320 r-spec LED dimmed down to about 50%, roughly 30” below….approx 250ppfd.
I just transplanted from solo cups to 1 gal fabric pots.
My question/issue is about a leaf surface temp (LST) disparity between the 2 plants.
My air temps are 78-80f w/ the humidity in the mid-hi 60%’s.
Plant 1 is growing faster and has a LST that’s always 2-3degrees lower than the air temp. It looks perfect for a 2 week old plant.
Plant 2 isn’t nearly as perky and its LST is always at or just above the air temp.
The one thing worth mentioning is plant 2 had a rough transplant…..the medium broke apart as I was easing it into the new hole. I’m sure the roots got moved around quite a bit.
However, the leaf temp disparity was present before I did the transplant.
I expect

plant 2 to need a little time to recover from such a rough landing.
I’ve read tons of info on this subject and have a basic understanding of VPD and how transpiration rates are dialed in according to the growth phases.
In the past, almost all of my plants have showed a higher LST than air temp.
I know this is not what you want but cannot figure out how to correct it.
My grows are turning out fine and the buds are always outstanding…..but this one issue is bugging me.
What does everyone think?
Thanks guys.

Is the plant with higher leaf temp closer to the exhaust ?

Is the plant with higher leaf temp closer to the exhaust ?
Yes it is. The exhaust fan is mounted in the top right corner of the closet……it’s a good ways away from both plants, but it is closer to the problem plant by about 6”.
Maybe I’ll switch them and see if anything changes.
