hey guys so im in week 3 of flowering using PH perfect grow micro and bloom i also add bio deisel cal/mag because im growing in coco/perlite the last think i add is a tiny bit of mono silicic acid for stem and root growth.

this to me either looks like a mag def or a phosphorus def, which im lost on which it could be.
i use 2.5ml to 2.5l of water calmag
4ml of grow
10ml of bloom
8ml of micro.
monosilicic 0.5ml per litre.
starting to use something new called root roids granular.

i have never checked or even knew about a ec rating but have done many grows that worked out well.
the PH of runoff is 6.0
temps 23C
humidity 50%
light 2x HPS600w 35cm above tallest cola
4x4 tent
small ac temps not set low at all, just provides decent airflow.
i also use one 8inch exhaust fan from vivosun a good size and sorts the air in the tent out very quick.

they drink very good once a day a soak down. the next day its nice and ready for another drink
ive been trying to keep my medium sort of flushed by feed feed water, feed feed water the break seems to help
also i lowered and adjusted the amount of each part of the nutes according to the plants life. grow is at 4ml due to N toxicity, caught it early and fixed.

but this thing is just doing my head in and id really appreciate some help on how i can fix this. the plant wont grow new leafs, shes only just passed pre flower and i do plan on taking these damaged leafs off next week.

probably just burning em. whats the EC of the run off ??
im not a fan of the feed today water tomorrow routine.
the idea is to feed the right amount and stabilise that nutrient ratio and concentration in the root zone.

i dont have a ec pen, and from what ive learnt so far about ec, a decent ec will allow your plant to drink better so its not wet for days.
might have to invest in one and see wether there is a lockout. i just thought lockouts occur from abnormal PH.
yeah ive just been going on what the plant looks like it needs than ill do my own ratio up for the fertz, i could try watering everyday with nutes without the odd plain water maybe a little bit smaller dose, but would you think to feed more calmag or the bloom fert? or just start with a ec pen.

i also looked into silica and how much to feed the plant and when to stop. maybe the silica is being a problem having them together.

another i didnt buffer the coco brick, i had seen online that can mess with my calmag nute?

this is actrully the first grow ive done in pure coco i do enjoy a challenge but also like coco more than soil. all my past grows were soil coco and perlite together.

personally i think coco works best with total control. if you feed the correct EC every day and keep the EC in and the EC out close together your plant will experience true hydroponic growth rates. because it doesnt have to keep adapting to constantly changing conditions. which is what happens when you feed one time and water the next. your just roller coastering the nutrient supply. also by not monitoring run off your building up salts in the coco and not noticing before its too late

yeah so far im liking the results of coco, with a ec, doesnt it work by how many nutes are in your water? for example a too high dose of ferts = a high ec and your plant will barely take anything up?? ec must not be a thing with soil ? never checked it just made sure i wasnt toxicating the plant and they usually grew fairly good pulling 5-6 oz per plant

also the built up salt, thats why i do a water after every 2nd feed, just thinking it will Dilute it or make it somewhat better i literally have no idea if its working haha

i have a post up so far with week by week pictures if youd like to sus it out. apart from them leafs im so happy how large the nugs are by week 3.

so what do you suggest i do to fix this issue? a full flush with the same amount of nutes everyday without water breaks ? more calmag solution? or is this a phosphorus def?

yes EC is essentially the amount of salt in the water.

i would strongly urge you to get an EC pen.
otherwise your just guessing. for now i would suggest instead of watering just do a weak nutrient instead. it actually works better at flushing than plain water.

thanks man the link has some usefull info!!
so from what i see, ive been pumping a wee to much PK into my plants and causes the plant to barely take up the cal mag. and a ec is kind of like a budget ? where you can only go so high with the nutes ? so the pen tells you when too much is too much

with the link man a guess can get pretty damn close with that info. really interesting what a low and a high ec level do differently. a low one brings deficiency and a high one brings burns. a low one drinks too fast and causes sugar problems and a high one barely drinks because too many nutes right ??

interesting man and cheers for the help.

also bullfrog i forgot to mention i got the info i needed. so i was wondering why my plants have been destroying so much water so fast and its copping weird defs when its receiving nutes. a low ec means you just feed her a little more right ?? also i didnt think it was that bad for plants to sit in their water wells with the water. ill be sure to invest in some stands so i dont get weird ec run off levels.

swear i never encountered this adding a small amount of soil to what im currently usin. i knew nothing lol pouring nutes into the lids at a guess haha pulled 7oz off a plant though so beginners luck. i think ive done about 7-8 grows now and so i know enough to get me to the end but swear i could keep researching for another few years and still find more stuff.

yes the run off must go to waste. dont let the pots sit in it 👍
you may get deficiencies if your nutes arent balanced correctly , your over feeding or pH is out of range.
if you feed the right amount and the right frequency you will never have deficiencies and you will never burn the plants . youll have smooth sailing 😘

@bullfrog13 knows his stuff, agree with everything he says here.

Salts bind on salts and wash them easier from the media balancing better your ratios , fertigation is the best with any inert medias, always feed with every watering. And never change EC too drastically. Go in small changes 0.1EC to 0.3EC changes max.

Only in rare occasions you will have a drastic change in EC, just in case of a flush or end of flower leaching for example.

okey well today ive fed them all and a tiny bit more of each to raise the ec, i should see the different time in how long the wait to rewater is, these leaves in the pics ill just pick them off in a week when i do their final defoliation :D cheers everyone.

and trash_2002 i agree ive seen him answer many many questions with plenty of detail.
