Nice I’m going to get a clone setup as well. About to get a mother/clone/veg tent going soon. I’ve been really wanting to get my hands on that grease monkey strain. I know there’s some crosses I could acquire but I really wanted that original grease monkey. ExoticI am trying my hand at cloning some strains I want to keep. I have 3 red runtz and 4 sweat helmet (sherb x grease monkey). I am using rapid rooters soaked in the clonex juice. Sprinkled some rooting powder in the holes and then took my cutting dipped them in the clonex gel and put them in the rapid rooters. It's been 2 days. Been spraying them a couple times a day. The humidity has been over 95% and about 75F. Today I will open vents for a hour or so and then close them. Hopefully they root. They are good genetix and the climate has been perfect. I do know I have to harden them off slowly throughout the process. Good thing is my house stays around 55%RH .
I would but no need. They get other background light through the window 2 feet to the right. All the research I've done told me that high humidity and low light intensity will result in best odds.If were me I’d get that light a bit closer
They really do not need any attention for the first 5 days. I do nothing until the 5th day. At that time I will clean all the water off the lid and spray the tops of the clones with an extremely low dose of nutrients, it is typically the water and nutrient I soaked the rockwool cubes in to wet them out. After about 5 days I crack the vents on the top about 1/8 of the way and leave it that way. From that point on I slowly open the vent each day and I take the lid off for about 10 minutes longer each day. Around day 10 to 14 depending on the conditions you should see roots. The cooler the ambient temperature the longer it will take for them to root. By day 14 they should all be rooted if not earlier. I get darn near 100 success this way, the only time I have had any issues is when I take bad cuts and you kind of know it going in. Lastly, just one rooting application is all that is needed.I am trying my hand at cloning some strains I want to keep. I have 3 red runtz and 4 sweat helmet (sherb x grease monkey). Aqua have you seen the new Floro Flex Cloning trays? I have heard good things about them.Yes well done I see success in the making.
Yeah I've left them alone for the most part. Just opened lid 2 times a day to do quick mist. Today had the vent open for a couple hours with no effect on clones. .my house has been staying around 55%rh . They seem to be just fine so far fingers crossed. They really do not need any attention for the first 5 days. I do nothing until the 5th day. It is really a situation where less is more.Yeah I've left them alone for the most part. Just opened lid 2 times a day to do quick mist. Today had the vent open for a couple hours with no effect on clones. .my house has been staying around 55%rh . They seem to be just fine so far fingers crossed.
Less is more is probably the best advice to be given to anything to do with gardening and growing in general. Especially with nutrients. It is really a situation where less is more.
Yeah I wanted to save these strains and I was about to switch to flowering so now was the time. Was about 100$ to get everything but now I have it for future use as well.Nice I’m going to get a clone setup as well. About to get a mother/clone/veg tent going soon. Nope... have to look them up.Aqua have you seen the new Floro Flex Cloning trays? I have heard good things about them.
Yeah I've learned over the years to do things how they are proven to work not the way steveystrappa thinks its gonna work lolOP you did the right thing with the light and that's a big reason they look so good.
Thanks my man! I'm still not out of the red yet though. I have a good feeling about them tho. I was specifically saving these 7 for clones. All were at bottom of main stem which I read is the best. They seem to be staying alive and hydrated. No drooping going on. Stomata still sticking up on all if them (idk if relevant lol) I honestly was planning on maybe 50 success idk what I'll do if all take lol need to buy a small verging tent. My gf had this cool emporium in a storage locker that I just found and started using. It's really cool. Has all led side lighting, a heated base and removable windows. I have 2 young plants in there at the moment. Didn't want to flower them yet. It's in my living room right now until I can make a barrier in the closet to block the light so it doesn't get in flowering tent. This is the best first attempt cloning work I've ener seen ....just do what you said you are going to do and you'll see roots busting out in a week , that's the most fun
