It is horizontal not vertical but it is more balance in weight then the sunlight. Seems to have better coverage side to side then the SL, still debating to get more?
For smaller grpwers that dont require multiple spread point sources of light...that contraption is very ideal. I bet a couple of them would blow out 3 to 5 1000 watt traditional single ended HID systems. Depending on the middle double ended setting...that all in one.os damn near perfect. In bigger setups with spread out double endeds and cmh fixtures....of course not....too close together. But one or two in the correct sized tent or room....stand back. They are meant for the small time personal grower who wants a high yielding higher quality crop....paying much less in electricity to get it.That almost looks fake,way overkill why have 3 lights that close to each other, that's just my take
Not if the middle is on the 600 or 750 setting or actual bulbYa, this makes NO sense. So, you have to keep the DE bulb 3-4' from your plants and anything past 30" with a 315w LEC is useless.....
Try some of those cmh lamps in betwixt a few of your double endeds in that flower room...then get back to me. Lol@GR33NL3AF I agree buddy,this configuration makes no sense at all.....
I use the 315's in my veg room,and the DE 1000's in flower.
Both work excellent ,but it's hard to see how combining them like this is worthwhile,or very efficient....
They are thee perfect supplement to doubles in flower too. Higher quality all across the board. De lamps are bad ass. I have 8 of them but a few 315's or 630's here or there in betwixt them (real.soon)....LOOK OUT. Its no comparison to double ended hps alone. And yes..they blow t5's in veg out the water. Basically mogul socket hid and t5's have been left in the dust. Dinosaur gear. Paying ALOT of electricity bill for less product at lower quality.What I see here is high priced fixture with multiple capabilities. If I were to buy this fixture, i would veg with 315 w 4100K bulbs then utilize a Philips bulb and a gavita remote ballast for flower, with the ceramics off.
@GR33NL3AF , I have been running these (sunlight LEC 315w 240 w ) for months and there is extreme veg production at 48" above canopy. In fact the wide spectrum available to the plants readies the vegers for the high intensity of the DE. Where IME if you throw plants veg plants from a t5 under a DE they are toast within in days.
And the whole 30 inch distant statement is fuzzy math. In real grow room use these things Ceramic LEC 315w are the best lighting thing to come along for indoor gardening. I run them above cuttings at 48" and the y are stout and solid and ready for the intensity of the D/E 1000w. I have been playing since 86 with HIDs (shoplights salvagee from a warehouse) and everything else offered since. Nothing compares to the ceramic 315 LEC as far as spectrum or par per watt.
I already know...you CRUSHEX IT didnt you? Ceramic metal halide goes with double endeds like peanut butter and jelly. I seen it witj my own eyes recently at a buddys house. Night and day difference in quality. And you can lighten the electric /heat bill by using A FEW less doubles and putting some digilums in there place.I just added 4 Dpap 315's to my 9 light Epap room. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Now I am running lec 315 n 1000 de with pretty good production. 6 lec n 4 de an cutting 2 to 2.5 lb per 3x3 trays 5 plants per with kush cheese and critical kush presently. That's 12 trays, had to take down 3 gavitas, just to much heat because of low ceiling in this room.
Now grant you, some changes need made in this room. Yet temps at 80 humidity at 60 with 1000 ppm of co2. Not enough cieling hieght to use the DEs on one side an causing foctails. I find the combo of the two excellent n at the price range good for what it is! Each light is around 500 n u get 3 for 1200?
A very ideal setup depending on how big you wanna get is using these Grow Beast fixtures (with a 600 double in the middle) on a light rail over a 3x9 table. 1260 watts total doesnt sound like much but we are talking lec (cmh) and double ended hps. A whole different ball game. These two lamps go together like shoes and laces. An even better setup especially if your worried about the long 9 foot dark side of the light rail travel is to use 2 Grow Beast fixtures each with its own rail side by side over a 6x9 area (two 3x9 tables) . Stagger one fixture and rail to be on the darkside of the traveling fixture on the other side. So the darkside of the travel will get something. 2460 watts total. Doesnt sound like shit for 6x9 area but these arent your old school mogul socket HID bulbs. You would crush it in the yield department with the right strain and canopy. And a solid built sealed room with co2 ...mini split...and a quest dehuey. Hell...i wanna try it at a spot (not my main - thats covered) just to see what i could pull off with the Santa Cruz Blue Dream cut. What do ya guys think ??? I spent all morning thinking up this dealy. You could even build your room bigger to accomodate future Grow Beast fixtures, light rails and 3x9 tables down the road. Imagine 4 of them bastards all staggered with thier own light rails. One setup is 1260 total wattage (using a 1000 double hps in the middle is not recommended - it would throw off the ideal height of the 2 outer 315 lec lamps and is really overkill). And my guess is it would be equivalent or surpass yields from 2000 watts of stationary mogul socket hps. Probably ALOT more yield. 3 to 4.5 pounds maybe? Plus your getting better quality from the damn near perfect sun like spectrum of lec and double ended combined. Yall got any opinions or am i way off base on my areas...yields...and wattage numbers? I swore off light rails years ago except for very specific situations. ...and i think with the Sunlight Supply Grow Beast fixture...this is one that is ideal for a rail.I think this would be best with a 600 watt DE HPS and ballast. Replace all your single ended 1000 watters for double ended 1000 watters if you got the height. If not...get the sixers in double. For every one get a 315 lec or two. Its gonna be expensive because of initial cost. But what isnt these days. Get over it. Its a one time buy in. Make it equal to the wattage in single ended your using now (prolly need ac if your used to air cooled with glass and tubing - ditch that mess and run your crops the same as you always have - maybe a little sshortr). Them doubles will blast some light and need more clearance. Now if your yields dont go up....I will kiss your ass or your doing something wrong. Growers all over are retrofitting whole rooms with the lec (cmh) and HPSde lamps and either cutting down on number of lamps and electric bill monthly and getting same yields...or using same wattage equivalent and getting ALOT more bud at a better quality (both newish bulbs have a much better spectrum that translates into higher quality - especially lec)The spectrum on the LEC is amazing, as well as the ability to light a 4x4 perfectly for veg. I got one to replace the 400w MH I was using. The nodes have never been tighter except vegging under T5. Stems get really strong as well. I was considering replacing 2x 1Kw with 6 of these bad boys over a 4x8. You won't save much on electricity but the advantage is uniformity of light spread and spectrum. The only problem is cost, just like LED. Sure I can replace all my lights but my yield probably won't improve much, so I'll probably keep trucking along with HPS until I have to buy new equipment.

I think the Grow Beast with 1230 watts of lec and HPS de on a light rail (or even without) would crush one double ended 1000. Watter all alone. Especially in quality. But yield too. It would be interesting to find out and i might just be trying it myself soon.I think this would be best with a 600 watt DE HPS and ballast. Would love to see a comparison of that vs 1000 watt DE HPS

I will damn near guarantee you...in a real world setting the Grow Beast fixture from Sunlight Supply will grow alot of dope. Damn what figures and measurements and stats say. Fuk forum here say trying to break it all down...So not sure if people are still thinking about this one lemme put it this way. Optimally your cmh fixtures run at 18 inches from the canopy to achieve 1000umol in a 3x3 while a de likes to sit almost double the distance away. At 36 inches you're going to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-300ish umols reaching the canopy. Seems more like a de fixture with 2 315w space heaters attached imo.
