I'm brand new to growing. What are the best tips advice you would tell someone who just started growing. This is my 2nd attempt. First time I put my seedlings in to big of pots and over watered them. I didn't make it past two weeks. I'm starting over now and have 4 white widow seedlings 15 days old. I'm thinking maybe you guys could help me with the things that you guys learned the hard way. Thanks

I was training on hemp germination and cloning before I ve started.

Grow in coco, if u ve difficulties with watering. Measure weight of pot, if u grow in peat. Have proper drainage with perlite mix. Carefull, watering and high humidity may lead to overwatering too.

Make hydroponic, u cant overwater.

Pictures would tell more, also specifically what u do, if u want tips, cause theres many.

Hey bud, Welcome to the farm. Please post a picture of your plants if you can.
It helps if we know what we are looking at.
What soil are they planted in?
How big are the pots?
What are you feeding? Or what do you have on hand fertilizer wise?

What light,
Tent size if in a tent.

If you do hydro make sure you monitor your water temps! I'm going through root rot at the moment and it's not very fun. First photo was before and second photo a week later.

Hydro is hard to over water but has a lot more other things to go wrong so to speak. I've never done Coco or soil so I can't help you there unfortunately.

All the best hope it goes well!

My advice is, don't be afraid to ask for help or just ask questions before doing stuff on your own. This community is filled with experienced growers that will gladly help you.

When your having issues, the more details about your grow setup you provide, the better.

So if you want to start your own post in the grow diaries that would be be optimal, because we can all follow your progress and we will be better informed to help you if problems arise.

Don't overthink things too much, a bit is healthy tho. Do a lot of research and experiment with things one a time, one variable at a time is really helpful, you will learn the craft much quicker this way.
Growing is supposed to be fun, most of the times anyways LOL

Also don't be discouraged by failures, this is where we learn the most.

I didn't know we had a grow diary we could use, that's brilliant!

My setup is pretty weak right now. I have fan humidifier and a heater to keep it at 72. I bought a shitty light because I knew nothing about leds. I'm getting a better light and need a dehumidifier. Also need ph tester and some easy nutes to start with. I've been looking at some on Amazon and some claim to be ph safe.

I planted them in a organic soil 30%perlite.
It wasn't very expensive soil I got it from Walmart. There white widow and there 15 days old.

Also my grow room is a sauna
U ll need inline fan taking humidity and hot air out of sauna or also dehumidifier in flower stage. Mold problem probable without it.
Do u count with a smell later?

Get definitelly some PH pen and PH down, if your water has high PH. Thats the most crucial part I d say.

Proper drainage at bottom of pots too.

Look for this regarding main nutrient mix of stuff, they r cheap and last long for several cycles. Main NPK, I ve masterblend 4-18-36, then calcinit and epsom, for later boost in flower potassium phosphate (u can get it cheap in your local chem lab), phosphoric acid (also in local chem lab) for PH down. U can just change the main NPK later if you want, rest is standart.

And add additives if so, fulvic acid, monosilic acid, miccorhizae, bacterias, kelp or fish shit for micro nutrients boost but start with main and slowly add more.

They look great. Don't side light. Put the LED bars directly over top of the plants.
What do you have around for fertilizer?
It you have something on hand great. If not it does not have to be fancy.
I have grown in Schultz liquid plant fertilizer. 10-15-10 works well for veg.
and flowered with 2-7-7 in a closet.
Schultz

12-6-6 Pro-mix works well for veg. 5-15-5 gives me great bud production and it's super uncomplicated.
Promix 2 Copy

or you can go pick up a bunch of stuff at the hydroponic store.
All depends what you want to do. I'm thinking it's almost time to transplant 12" pots. Get them ready.
You can transplant any time.

oh, and I regret buying my grow tent, so if u could go for gorilla tents.
and if u ll search for light, defo check samsung lm301h evo chips...

You think there ready to transplant. There only 2 weeks old. How long can they stay in 16oz cup.

There's no one right way to grow. You want to find a system that works for you. Success depends on balancing light, water, nutrition, and environment. The balance will be different depending on your media and system. Here are some YouTube guys who grow great gardens and are great teachers:

Welcome to the Growtent, amended soil and synthetic nutes.
Mr. Canucks, organic.
Build-a-Soil, living soil.
Dawgo the Hutt, coco and synthetic nutes.
Bill Ward, autoflowers.
Indoor Promised Land, hydro.

There are more, but those are some that have helped me. Seed-to-harvest videos or guides are very useful, to get a sense for how the different parts of a system work together.

sometimes less is more, over caring or over loving is the #1(ish) cause for new growers losing plants, you can always add but not always take away

Looks like you have the light to close or to high a setting. Back the light off 30" or so and turn the light down 60%.
Is that coco?
