Hello so I am upgrading to a L.E.D. system from my current 150hps that was given to me. My tent is a 3x3x6 and yeah that light is not gonna cut it and as it is my closet sounds like a factory with the cooling lol. So I went ahead and purchased a 2x2x4 (sqft 4) tent so I can have 3 in my closet. Personal grow for me and the wife we work from home
tiphat.gif

So I am going to buy my parts and need some advice here.

Parts in mind.

1x MEAN WELL HLG-240H-C1400A 1400mA 89~179V 250.6W LED Power Supply

4x CITIZEN 117.5W 3500K CLU048-1212C4-353H6K2

I will be running them at 1400 and should be at 250.6

OR ....

1x MEAN WELL HLG-240H-C700A 700mA 178~357V 249.9W LED Power Supply

8x CITIZEN 117.5W 3500K CLU048-1212C4-353H6K2

Ran at 700 and should be around 249.9

Then I want to use a long heatsink but w/o a fan so passive I need to know what heatsink would work for me from heatsink usa.

REMEMBER thi sis going in a 2x2x4 will they crush it.

So thats pretty much it thanks wating to order = )

Running those citi's softer will be more efficient and easier to passively cool. I would go with 8@700mA.

numbers dont jive haha.4 x 36v cobs ran @ 1400ma will be about 200w not 250w and im not a big fan of the citizens but hey give em a try.the second option you posted will also put you at 200w roughly,36v x .700ma=25w per chip so 8 x 25=200w for a 3 x 3 i would look at using 300w if you want to flower.if you run those cobs at 1750ma you will get 62+w per cob so 5 of those will put you at 310w ish.i would run 6x 50w in there but you will need a bigger driver like the hlg-320-1400 to make that work

For the longest time I have been frozen by indecision trying to find the BEST solution to LED lighting.
I settled for the best (watts consumed per dollar spent) COB I could find.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9A82RV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Over 200 watts turned to light via 5 COB leds for $145
Have three of them on the way.
They will replace three 400 Watt HPS in my next cycle.
I intend to post result, or perhaps log the entire flower cycle.

K well I did some more searching and came up with this let me know what you think.

2x = Mean Well HLG-185H-C1050A 200W
8x = Citizen CLU048-1212
2x = 24inch 4.850" WIDE EXTRUDED ALUMINUM HEATSINK
2x = 120mm fan for cooling each sink.

So I can hit 200 watt using all 8 cobs to one driver or 4 cobs to a driver and achieve 400 watt
What ya'll think and man you guys have been more informative then these other forums jeez glad I joined.

O and remember I am putting all of this in a 2x2x4 not a 3x3 .. I will be flowering in the 2x2 I have another 2x2 on the way for my veg. 3x3 to BIG for my closet lol saving her for when I move. Currently flowering a bagseed that I liked 2nd run and this 150hps aint cuttin it for me lol especially with the small space closet lol.

Here are some pics shot today

I think you're in good shape. I just guessed on the spectrum and cri, not sure what you're looking at. If flowering only, I recommend 3000k 80 cri for the 1212's. Where are you going to buy from?

Below is your data from the citi calculator

Nice info there so thats my info on 8 cobs 1 driver at 1050ma so what you think I can pull using that in a 2x2

thats the million dollar question my man! depends on many things, but if you're looking for personal only, you'll have plenty.

Haha yeah its a personal grow me and the wifey trying to finally start my perpetual I need help with that still.

Ok so check this hear me out, so I have 2 2x2 tents I was thinking get 2 of the 185 drivers and run 4 cobs each driver I would have 2 tents setup. I am thinking of getting a hlg 185 c1050 driver version so I would be pushing around 200 correct?

So both tents can have that each so veg at 200 and flower at 200. Unless I should put more watts to the flower and decrease the veg watts remember I will have total 8 clu048 1212s.

And another thing you think my current grow in the pics looks behind its a bagseed but starts week 6-7 today lost count ( I know how dare I ) anyways it shows some amber I started the plain water now don't wanna pull to early and diff not late I like the ippity up High for work but don't want to sacrifice yield on a early pull feel me. I have som echeapo microscope but man it sucks I need to get a good one. Also the pistils on top colas some have or are receding not on pictures but looking at it live could be very near you think ?

This is a good plan. Looks like your plant still has at last 2-3 weeks to go

Ok so you need to watch some growmau5 videos on youtube so you can understand for the drivers work with the cobs.if you buy a 200w driver and use the wrong combo of Cob chips and driver you will leave power on the table.the meanwell 185-1050ma will drive 5 x 36v cobs @about 35w each so if you run 4 cobs on that driver it will only be 4 x 35w = 140w.so if you move to a 185-1400ma driver you would have 36v x 1.4 amp for about 50w per cob and 4 of those will fill out the driver nicely for 200w.so if you wanted to use 5 cobs in your 2 x 2 tent you would move to the meanwell hlg-240-1400ma and that driver will run 5 x cree cxb 3590 @ 36v for around 250 watts. Idk if the citizen 1212 will work like that as the forward volts are slightly different like 36.7v per cob.also i still think cree is king under 50w per cob.yeah 3500k color will flower and also veg very well.gl

4-cxb3590 36v and 1-HLG-185H-C1400B driver with 2-5.66"18" heatsinks active cooling with fans will give you 200w for each tent. Dim them to 50% during veg and 100% during bloom. Will work great and you will be most happy.
