4-cxb3590 36v and 1-HLG-185H-C1400B driver with 2-5.66"18" heatsinks active cooling with fans will give you 200w for each tent. Dim them to 50% during veg and 100% during bloom. Will work great and you will be most happy.
But def watch the growmau5 videos titled diy leds part 1 thru 7.peace
ok that drive has 148v availible so should work with 4 x 36v cobs.i know for fact it will run 4 x cree and citi should be fine as well.so yeah about 150w from those 4 cobs and that driver so 37.75w per sq foot should be nice in a 2 x 2Yeah I was checking that out that guy is led guru lol.
So I was able to get this driver from a flea market cheap like 40$ MeanWell HLG-120H-C1050B.
So for my 2x2 setup I can run 4 1212s citi at 36v x 1.05 = 37.8 watts to each cob x 4 cobs = 151.2 watts so would this be efficient and good for me in my 2x2 do I have anything to fill or can it run fine idk
I have 10 citis 1212s So what other driver should I look for to power the rest for flower efficiently.
leaves you with 6 more cobs,i would use all 6 in a 3 x 3 tent with this driver in series wiring. http://www.rapidled.com/mean-well-hlg-320h-c1400b/ use coupon code growmau5 for 5% off
this would be about 50w per cob for 300w and dimable with a 100k potentiometer added to the dim leads. so you could dial it down to around 150w for veg and crank it up for flower.
Yes.but 226w of cobs in a 2 x 2 is alot of light so be prepared to dim or be on your A game.i would equate it to 60 to 70w per sq ft if you were using hid lights. Have you ever used 70w psf of hps? I ask because its kinda overkill.

well a few things, its not high noon all day outside, its only like that for a short period.if we hit the plants with 1800 to 2200 ppfd for a solid 12 hours its just too much light.look up DLI,theres actually a formula for how much light a plant recieves daily, cumulatively.imo if you have 700 to 900ppfd your doing really good in the space.I gotta say, I've never understood the 50w/sq ft rule of thumb. My reasoning, is our lights arent brighter than the sun, so how can we have overkill? I also understand there has been studies relating to growth rates and co2 levels, etc.
But, if plants grow into monsters outside with natural 400ppm co2, why cant they grow into monsters with 100w/sq ft or more? Just a wonder
yeah even 1500ppfd is too much light imo.real world testing im seeing 700 to 900 is more than enough light.this plant was in the 700 range at the tops, and prob around 400ppfd down around the center.doubling my lights would have been silly stupid and wasteful imo.

In a 2x2 200w is best that is a ppfd of 750 to 850 the max plants can sustain. That is 50w/sf at max and 25w/sf minNice info there so thats my info on 8 cobs 1 driver at 1050ma so what you think I can pull using that in a 2x2
