Hello ya'll, second post here, I'm posting some pics I have of my room build in progress. I'm a ways beyond these pics, but I thought I'd get these up and see what ya think.

This is a DIY UC style system, based on lot's of reading and then adapting to room contstraints. It's a 16x6 room, so I'm going with vertical lighting, 4 or 8k, depends on how the AC holds up, plant size, etc. right down the middle.

There'll be additional lines for pumping to a chiller and returning to the 2 end buckets, and everythings going to be wrapped and light proofed.

The vertical exhaust pipe is 8", and goes down to 3x4 tubes that are buried in the yard and exhaust near my compost piles, after a run of about 75 feet, so I should have pretty cool air when it comes out.

The buckets are the 28 gallon HD brand and the pvc is electrical, 3" diameter. The one thing I'm wondering, and I won't find out 'til I grow, is if this type of pvc is safe...here's keeping my fingers crossed :worried

Anyway, hope you dig it so far.

What size a/c do you have for that room?

4 unvented lights at 5,000 BTU each is close to a 2-ton unit.

I am setting up a similar setup, i would love to know all the specs.:)

I've got an in-room 11k btu and a 13k btu window unit plumbed through the ceiling. I've had 4k going with only the window unit holding 78F just fine.

The room fan is elicent ~680cfm.

Looks great bro,

Just curious as to why the outlets so close to water level? I just hate water and electricity!

Good luck bro, way to DIY, looks like you did a lot of thinking!

I would line everything with panda plastic. The floor in the very least needs a layer. Cover the outlets you dont need with the panda plastic as well. It will work great to cover and protect your electrical wiring on the wall. Good luck. Looks great so far!

Good Info! I was going to run 3k with a 18k btu mini i am glad to hear it should keep the temps balanced quite nicely.:)

Are you gonna mount wall fans? Also I would suggest hitting the room preemtively with a fogger for mites and a sulfur burner for powdery mildew if these two issues are problems in your area

Thanks for the advice

Plus, here're some more pics of the room further along.

I've got some babies getting ready and as soon as I get some roots popping out of the buckets the real funs begins!

Sorry for the sideways on some of these.

I like your idea with the cages around the lights to keep the plants from not touching .Havent seen that before but makes sense if ya keep it tite or for any reason really, hell keeps you from bumping in and frying yourself!
Do you get even flow from your pumps and back?

Flow is even

I only had trouble when I tried smaller diameter between the buckets. Originally I tried a flexible pipe but it collapsed under pressure...I don't have enough of a physics or hydrodynamics background to know all the pressures and stuff.

Here's a pic of the returns flow.

Nice room bro. Only thing that would make me nervous is that airpump mounted inside your rez. Theres gotta be a safer place to put that thing lol Nice setup bro props.. Post pics when you get them girls in there.
