Agree to most of the comments.

The same shit happens with nutrients.

Most of the industry commercialized after Colorado and California rec legalized. A LOT of NY wall street types jumped in trying to cash in on the "Green Gold". That brought a lot of marketing attention to the industry and we have what we have now. I know this from personal experience as I had a rolodex full of east coast contacts ready to jump into a venture I may present to them.

It doesn't bother me too much as I stick to older cultivars but it seems most breeders ascribe to making flower LOOK better than actually PERFORMING better.

I dont know how i missed this til now, but yes. 100% agree with that, dispo weed is harsh and yuck lol. Mightys give the absolute best flavor imo. I too have a mighty+ great device

I think the names are funny.
Most do not attract me and make choosing strains a PIA for me.
I am about to start 5th grow and will be repeating 3 strains from my first grow.
I can't say I favor one 'type' of herb over another.
The way flavors are described are just the ramblings from people who are stoned! 🤔
The hype is just hype, like buying this years model is better than last years model.🤷‍♂️
All this and people still hunt high and low for the old bud they remember..🤣

A lot of people remember the weed when they were young and having the times of their lives. I feel for a lot of people it was the setting like going snowboarding with friends, climbing a mountain, going to concerts and shows as a young person. Wouldn’t have the same effect even if they found the strain again today. IMO

The only things people called weed when I was younger was “mids”, “dro”, or “schwag”. I honestly believe street dealers have minimal clue to what they’re selling, and sometimes I think that’s too much credit.

I like that but how can one win when they do grow "old weed" just to be told it isn't really the real strain? Ex. Acapulco Gold I'm considering running

That's a good start!! Part of the fun is finding the genetics you really like. In this case you're going to have to do some poking around to see who's got it in its purest form. Unfortunately, with all the crossbreeding, it's not going to be easy to find it in its pure form. Look at me. I'm on that hunt right now, looking for some of the older strains before they get completely bred out. Triangle Kush is another really nice strain if you like indicas.

I think it would be good for you to run some of the older strains like chem dog or OG Kush. They may not flower as pretty as some of the trichome bombs but I can tell you they'll knock you on your ass just as well if not better than the crystally nugs.

amber trichomes are what makes the high psychadelic, beyond head high and body high, there is psychadelic high, yes im still talking about weed. if your plant is mostly amber, that is a psychadelic high, you will think you're in the movie you're watching. psychadelic high is hard to find now, i stash them everytime i run into it and i smoke it sparingly. last night i watched a movie and the camera flew up into the sky and it gave my stomach butterflies. if your weed dont do that, you're totally missing out.

Blueberry Muffin. this pheno was def an oldschool weed pheno, smells of straight blueberry kush, small nugs (all kush i've smoked in late 90's and early 2000's have small nugs. this is the weed that gave me butterflies when the camera fly into the sky and dove back down in the movie. and because it has psychadelic properties, i will save it, and i only smoke 1 bowl maybe once a week or twice a month. sad that this weed giving this kind of high is being flooded out by meth weed that speeds everything up and you can't even focus your eyes and you nearly see double. also, to clarify or to make my statement make sense. i'm from LA california, big time smoker from the motherland. not just some jo shmo

That's just people's mental state. I still just want to help out when I smoke no matter the strain. The easiest way to get rid of the anxiety/paranoia of weed is to say, "F-it, I don't care". Hardly anyone wants to take the introspective "long road", to figure out what it is about themselves that makes them feel like that.

I've like3 all the strains I grew this year, I just always harvested early and also had fair share of kinks to work out.
My 1st grow was 2 white widows and 2 Chem Cookies (Chemdog x GSC forum cut) from Mamiko Seeds. She was wildly more temperamental then the widows. Was growin in coco and switched from AN to Masterblend half way into flower 😂 1st grow though and did best I could at the time. The smoke was actually pretty damn good.

Grew some Bruce Banner a couple grows back that sucks. Haven’t decided what to do with it. Thinking of sifting and then press into rosin. I’ll make carts from that.

This is my goeeytang from the garden. I’ve been growing this for at least 7 years now. The seeds are still germinating strong. It’s new to me and a few people out there have had it. I’ve still got a ton of seeds left. I just keep growing it every year and have try new genetics each year along beside it. I tried in house this year. New to me but the germination rate was poor. I had a few good plants out of it though

That sucks it don't seem up to snuff. Maybe it will be better in another form like carts. I'm thinkin of doin 4 indica hybrids in a 4x4 and 4 sativa hybrids in the other. Then grow after that just grow the 2 or 3 I liked most. Time to do some sampling.

I grew some Bruce Banner from Darkowl. I didn't care for it until after the cure. Now it is ok, but not the best tasting for sure. Taste like mint chocolate chip ice cream.
