got a new 4x4 tent along the seams there lil pinhole light leaks where it was sewn , right now i have some gorilla tape covering it . i was wondering what any of you have done with this same problem . could you use paint on the outside along the seams or maybe even that spray on liquid rubber as seen on tv stuff lol

Id be concerned with chemicals leaking in... maybe drop a sheet over the tent?

Even the best tents on the market suffer from light leaking out of the tent with lights on at the seems. Remember I said light leaking out of the tent. If you just have household lighting inside the room the tent is installed there is not a problem. The light leaks out better because grow lights provide substantially more light than household lights. Just to check, turn the lights on outside the tent. Turn the grow light off and go inside and close up the tent. No light should be coming into the tent.

Brush on liquid rubber... flex seal or something for the seams?

I've never tried that stuff, but that stuff I see in the commercials is pretty pricey. Get a tube of black silicone, put on some latex gloves and just smear a tiny bit along the outside of the tent seam. Do it while the lights are on and leave the tent door/flaps open until the silicone sets up (3-4 hours or more). Silicone gives off fumes (Acetic Acid) when curing. Acetic acid is a pesticide. Once it cures it doesn't give off fumes and is safe. In a small enclosed, unvented area it can be an issue to plants while curing. Prob no big issues used on the outside of a grow tent. Especially if you have your duct fan extracting air while curing but better to use caution.

well i got a can of flex seal 14.88 wasnt so bad i have done 2 sides of my tent and have only used 1/4 of a can if that did a little bit yesterday and it seemed to work last night so i am about to have 2 sides finished up . the flex seal says non toxic and not harmful to plants i will post some pix soon so u all can see my shitty seam job lol

I had the same problem chucked a blanket over the tent fixed the problem will it make plants hermi who knows

Yeah I've got a 4x4 same issue . I have gorilla tape over most pin holes along with a black sheet to prevent problems. I've been using it for 2 years that way

I originally tried light sealing my tent but after some trial and error (and almost collapsing the tent on itelf when it was zipped up with the fans on, I settled on light sealing the room instead.

I completely sealed the room my tents in from light.Seems probably to stupid a solution but it works for me.
