New to drysifting and need help!

Just recently bought a 120u screen heard somewhere it would collect me the purest drysift

So i had like 150gs og trim and popcorn

And i sifted it and got 15gs so 10% yield

I made a few quick tries and some of it wasnt even properly dry so i left it overnight to dry and put it back into my freezer it was really good tho some of it

I have like 12 grams of okay drysift
Im a really big fan of pressing it into hash balls or bricks for instance
these 12 grams just isnt melting properly my hash turns black when i burn it doesnt melt so its pretty contaminated iguess

Just wondering what i may have done wrong i did sift it for maybe 2 minutes but i mean i had the idea that i would have something a little more full melt like not this hard lump

ok did you use a hot bottle? you should take out and try to get it all to stick together and than re flatten it with the bottle,. you have nitrile gloves?
the puce could stay as a nice piece of hash or it can start to dry and not stick together or something in between,. all depend on the amount of “contaminates”,.

i meant the dry sifting screen i’d like to see that with the micron size

I did not use a hot bottle it does stick together but i just need help getting a purer product next time

I want to make full melt hash full of tasty terpenes

uh never seen those screens before especially with those micron sizes,.
i would think you would want the 140 micron to trim over and collect what’s underneath,.
i think trim bins are 149 micron,..

the 73 and 160 with your 120 should do you fine

well i do have a thread about it,.
i’ll be doing lots of dry sifting coming up next month or so and i always post most of what im doing,..
and yes you could buy the 73 screen first and get away with that, than when you can get the 160 screen,. box of nitrile gloves that fit semi snug,..

I did use gloves tho dont want my hands to get all sticky

Will The 73screen make me higher quality sift or? I heard somewhere its only immature heads and stalks that goes through on 73 and 90-120 is better terpene range

If i understand this correctly i want to sepparate immature heads and stalks away from the mature heads using the 73u screen with the 120 on top? Right

yes or get 160 screen and clean what’s on top of the 120 and maybe just save what falls beneath until you get a 73 screen,.

I think im getting the hang of it now you gotta keep in mind i have never done this before so im a total noob

There are two parts to sifting! Sifting and cleaning! If you can’t clean it, then you probably may not get the purest results. Just two cents!

You’ll get the hang of it! Then you’re gonna want to grow a ton of weed outdoors, so you can play with it all winter! Can be a little bit habit-forming! Hang in there! By the time this winter is over, I’m gonna be nipping right at nicks heels! He’s a terrible influence, you know!
