The og gelato says 8 weeks and the white widow 9 I’ve been reading everywhere do not follow those times there mostly bs

Widow is usually a 9-10 week strain. I would assume that one is ready for chop. As far as the OG, it’s probably good in another 3 days or so, but you could probably take it down now and it would still be great.

I noticed how when I look inside the bud on the plant like if u look inside the bud like pull a little bud site back to look like sort of on the inside of like a cola it’ll be a little fresher looking (the bud) ...like it’s sort of got a green tint and the outside will look “finished” like no green just ripe

Ok don’t they keep putting on weight (not mass but weight) making the bud more dense if I go on the longer side of flowering? I don’t want airy buds when they dry I want them to be really dense not fluffy

I did a bs grow that I don’t count cuz I didn’t have a loupe but idk how the trichs looked but all I know is it was airy didn’t get me high and smelled like grass when it dried like 2 grams looked like a quarter

In that case now would probably be a good time to start searching drying and curing methods

by the way the picture that I could see of that whole Bud look pretty dense, look pretty ripe too, nice first grow!

I was gonna Hang in a closet and leave all the leaves on it so it slow dries for like 7 days with a small fan pointing towards them then jar em maybe paper bag for a day that’s the method I’ve been told to do for to not get the grassy hay smell

Is white widow a strong strain compared to like gorilla glue and all the sherberts strains sunset and more ...cuz that’s what goes around here last 2 months and it’s really good so I’m hoping it is atleast as good I’m hoping better ...another question it looks like under the microscope there’s a lot more trichomes per area than there is on white widow ? Does that mean it’s more potent I know it said 25% thc and white widow said 22% but I read white widow is the best strain all time that’s why I ordered those strains

U can see in what I’m smoking now is called cookies is the brand presidential og is the strain at 32% thc ...I don’t think it’s really 32 though someone told me those are just the highest possible but I’m orderering new seeds from a sit today and want some opinions on a super fire strain I can order maybe a link someone could write ...but I want top notch but I want someone that have grown it they tell me off experience ...if someone could point me in a high fire strain that’s good for supercripping and high yields...I’m currently working with 3 led lights each one has 644 watts actual output so 1,900+ actual watts I know I went all out and I’m growing organic soil it’s called Great Lakes currently using 7 gallons of soil in fiber pots is that not enough ?.....this is what I’m switching into that flower room with 2000 actual watts ...right now those 3 I got left are going into flower in 3 weeks or so I need to defoliate to get longer colas is it to early to start tying those ones down ?

Nice thread. Like beachwalker, my vision isn’t what it was, but even though your pictures aren’t the greatest I didn’t see even one amber trichome. I would at least wait until a few show up on the buds before harvest. You can usually see the buds growing fatter and feeling denser and then one day you realize they look like they have stopped fattening up. Great grow!

Well the top one cola there’s more as u can see but the hugest one is rock hard dense almost and the other ones are a lil fluffier I might have to chop that one huge cola earlier .... this one it’s also around 4 maybe 5 inches closer to light witch is probably why

You can leave your buds on the plant for too long; if you do all the thx degrades and you end up with a weak effect. It can also encourage mold to grow in the middleman of the bud, though it seems like your humidity is alright and mold shouldn’t be any issue for you. @Beachwalker put up a perfect chart for you to judge the development of your trichomes.

As for drying DO NOT put a fan blowing on your plants directly. Have a fan in the space that will move air but not blow on the buds directly. I would recommend pulling all the large fan leaves off at harvest and leave any sugar leaves (leaves close to the buds with trichomes on them) on, those will be trimmed once dry. Once buds snap off the branch they are ready for a final trim and to be put into jars for the final stage of curing.

Potency depends on a lot of things, variety is the least of them. Good potency comes down predominantly to the talent of the grower, if the plants are healthy for their entire life and taken at peak potency they will have a good effect. However, every person will have different responses to each strain as there are other things that create the whole effect such as terpenes. So just because something says it’s cookies does not mean it will be as good or as s Truong as another batch labeled cookies. as for White Widow, in the late 90’s when it first came out it was one of the strongest available strains, but since then strains with higher THC counts have been bred. I did grow a cut of White Widow out about 10 years ago and I loved it. It wasn’t a knock out effect out I found it lasted a long time and was highly functional.

That’s what I’m worried about not picking in time I’m just paranoid u said mold on the inside of the buds ? It don’t look like mold just looks a little lighter green like no lights getting to it (the bud)

I just feel like the tops buds on the white widow are finished I could pick now like half way down on the stems where all the buds ripe and let the bottom still grow right ?

Spend $8-10 and buy a 60 x Loop and & scope your trichomes proper, and you'll have your answer. And yes you can harvest the top buds first

It is a 60 scope I can see it good there a bunch cloudy they just haven’t started turning yellowing or Amber I got weed I get from I dispensary and it all is cloudy and yellowy sort of I compare it do that cuz it gets me real high ...

A lil more cloudy taking a lot longer than I thought how long after cloudy like an eta I know it’s different for all strains... do they start turning yellow or amber ...some are even still clear but now it’s half clear / half cloudy ...none Amber I want half cloudy half Amber ...
