welcome @CDNGass , are you into rosin press or bho im going to be getting into bho in to new year myself

I’ll be doing BHO, I’ve never done it. I had a fairly large outdoor grow this year so I have a surplus of flower that I wanna turn into concentrates !
Bubble hash, safe and no hydrocarbons. Then press and you have oil.

Remember, winter time brings a lot of static electricity and butane is heavier than air. Be very careful and don't blow yourself up.
That’s why I’m here! To learn NOT to blow myself up !

Where would I create a post for information about making concentrates? I’ve looked through the forum and can’t seem to find a category to post in? Thanks!

If your a new grower I would strongly encourage you from staying away from using Butane to make concentrates. I would use another method if possible. Its just a very dangerous and difficult thing to do without the proper equipment.

Most here look for more natural extraction methods solventless. Go to the search window and type BHO Extraction and something willl come up
Good luck and be safe!

Blasting is only part of it!

I’ve been growing for 18 years. Can I ask you why you would think it would be more dangerous to a new grower than if I were a vet? I think growing has nothing to do with making concentrates?

Oh, it would be dangerous regardless for sure. And lol I certainly didnt know you had been a vet for that long. You are more seasoned than me by a long ways!

My point was that if you were still green to the basics of growing itself then it was very unlikely you had done adequate research to even be aware of the complications of what to do with the weed after harvest. (IE: Drying, Curing, Making edibles) Let alone something as advanced as what I would consider one of, if not the hardest and most dangerous way to do extraction.

All that said, your right. Grow knowledge wouldnt help you with making concentrates. But if you were knowledgeable in it there would be a higher likelyhood you had knowledge in other matters concerning cannabis as well.

growing experience does not relate to extractions experience at all. seasoned growers and new alike could be on the same level of education when coming to bho or any extraction method. it comes down to research and instruction

Yep! And the proper equipment.
