Hi,
Before this spring, I had never seen a live plant, let alone grown one. The strain I have been purchasing, one I like very much, has been so full of seed I could start a farm. I decided to try to pop few and did they ever respond.
As you can see, I have had a lot of beginners luck. I would love any feedback on the health of the plants and any estimation that can be made for how far I am from harvest. One of the 3 plants has a lot more amber in it than the others. I did accidentally split it trying to open up the 2 cola to get more light through. So, that may be a stress reaction.
Also, there has been some spotting on the lower fan leaves. It can been seen in some of the photos. It isnt mould as far as I can tell and the plants seem healthy.
I have been told the strain is called Long Island Pink Kush. I have researched Island Pink Kush and assume it is a variety of that strain. Based on my experience using it, it fits.
I wanted the most bang for my buck so I have used 10 gallon fabric pots. I miscalculated my soil needs. So, they are each in roughly 7 gal of soil. One has a little less than the other 2. I also accidentally got garden soil rather than potting soil. I have used ProMix products the entire time. The soil is their premium organic vegetable and herb mix. I boosted nitrogen with blood meal when I transplanted them and a couple of times after. Since flowering I have been using their liquid concentrate vegetable food with every watering.
I struggled a little with powdery mould on the soil and did have some fungus gnats early on. A little cinnamon on the soil and some ventilation adjustments solved that. Although, I the white powder has shown up on the soil a couple more times.
They started off in a makeshift tent that was not airtight. I realized I was outgrowing the space - I couldn't get my light high enough. So, I bought the tent they are in now. I also gradually reduced my lighting and was down to about 13 hours when I realized the need for the tent. That was July 13. They went into the tent on July 26, already with some little flowers. That was when I dropped right down to 12/12 lighting.
Main concern right now is determining when to stop adding food to the water and the timing of harvest. I have a very busy few weeks and really am concerned that I will have to start before I can dedicate the time.
There is so much more I could put in here. This enough for now.
Any guidance I can get would be greatly appreciated.
