Hello, hello!
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty new at this. ( growing) not Mary in general.

She's been a part of my life for a long time and always for the better.

Marijuana has been a very pleasant force in my world.

I'm 27.
Suffer from chronic migraines & back/ neck pain (from a recent car accident.) Marijuana helps me tremendously.

Mary also helps my mother get through her chronic pain along with the side affects brought on by cancer meds. more amazingly it put her Chrones Disease into remition.

I recently received my caregivers license and started looking for dispensary work (or anything related).

one day though, I'd love to have a grow op of my own and become a bigger piece of the cannabis community.

I've been devouring any books I can find on the subject, this link has been a tremendous help I hope it helps someone else as much as it helped me!

^ great reads, most in PDF format.
Including the grow bible

welcome to the farm bro, it is the #1 resource for the grower, breeder, ect. great place to be, glad you here. keep it green.

Thanks guys!
Trying to catch up in the forums!
Any good posts out there you can recommend?

welcome to the forum, hopefully you announcing yourself publicly will inspire you to begin your climb up the not so steep learning curve.

...believe me, growing isn't all that hard once you begin, but to really learn you need to pop some beans, reading about it can only get you so far, if you want to be self sufficient then dig out some free bagseeds and see if you can get any to survive into the vegetative stage, ...i personally popped 30 my first try and i managed to kill them all within 2 weeks, so i popped 30 more, that's the secret to success, you NEVER give up.

...anyway, as a beginner i'd suggest you get yourself a 4 x 4 tent and a couple of common T12 or T8 shoplights, these won't be good enough for flowering really but they will do just fine for vegging, at least until you gain some experience.

then get yourself a 5kg brick of coco and a bag of MaxiBloom, both available at Amazon, ...you'll also need to begin studying 'hempy' technology which is so brain dead easy that calling it 'technology' makes is sound way more complicated than it actually is, ...which is a passive form of hydroponics adapted from ancient Roman tech lol.

...when you are first starting out easy is good, with that list of reading material you posted i'm sure you are at least a little confused as to which direction to go in so i suggest 'easy' is your best choice, you will have plenty of time to complicate your operation down the road.

peace, bozo

btw, here are some pics of my first ever hempy's and you'll note that the hempy 'pots' or 'buckets' are simply cut down 2 and 3 liter soda bottles filled with coco, also worth noting is that they were all fed nothing but MaxiBloom from rooted clone right through harvest and they were all flowered under a 400CMH.

Thanks for the input bozo, much appreciated.

Im planning on starting simple, pop a 2-3 seeds a few weeks a part so I can cover casualties lol.

I did some gorilla farming back in the islands nothing to fancy, indoors is gonna be different I look forward to the added level of control.

Is it worth getting the T12 / T8?
Or a decent HPS so I can use it through veg & Flowering?
Never heard of using the coco, I'll add that to The list

BTW Your girls look beautiful bozo :)
How far along were they?

...thanks man and those pics were taken just before harvest.

also, if you are gonna truly benefit from indoor growing you'll need 2 spaces, one for vegging and one for flowering and the flouro's would work fine for the veg side of things, for flowering you'll almost certainly want an HPS.

...here's a couple shots of my first 2 cabs, one for mothers and vegging and the other for budding out the clones so you can see where i'm coming from but if you have the space and the place to put 2 tents then you will be way ahead of the game and saved from having to figure out how to make a conversion like this work, i learned a LOT but i'd not want to do it again.

peace, bozo

I absolutely love those cabs. Brilliant!

Man, that must have been a mission to figure out. Judging by the results though it looks very well worth it!

Those pics will help a lot, in spatial awareness alone!

If I can build something half as good as that, I'll he happy.

...trust me man, if you have the space to fit a couple of tents, say a spare bedroom or a basement, you will save yourself many headaches, lol. ...you don't save a whole lot of money building things yourself either, the advantage is you can spend money as you have it, a tent you won't be able to make payments on, as it were.

...and they make different sized tents so you could get a standard 4 x 4 to flower in and something maybe half that size to veg and clone in.

it will cost you some money to get set up but once you get up and running you will quickly get that back if in no other way but the savings from not having to buy weed.

...anyway, here's a couple shots of my veg tent so you can see i've upgraded and moved on from the small cabs, like i said i learned a lot but small time growing like that is very labor intensive, note though that i am in fact using just a couple shop lights as my veg lights, ...they may be far from optimal but then, i don't need 'optimal' i just need enough to feed my operation and these shop lights give me way more vegetative growth than i can use so they are 'optimal' enough for this old stoner, lol.

...and here you can see the flower tent to the right.

...coco hempy buckets, KISS style using nothing but MaxiBloom in a 4 x 4 tent with a 600HPS barebulb vertical style is the quickest way to achieve self sufficiency in my opinion, ...you should be able to be pulling close to a pound every 2 months or so with little to no drama.

here's what it looks like.

anyway, good luck and remember, you only fail if you give up.

Welcome to the Farm DeaconVale, Good to see another Michigander on the Farm. Check out the Michigan forum you will find many of us there, lots of good gear enjoy your stay...

Oh wow.
Those tents would make the whole process 100% easier. I'm gonna take your advice and steer that route. Your buds look extremely healthy!

Tents easy enough to scrub down between crops?

@Canappa I was hoping to find some local farmers!

Man this is the best community ever, such great input for a newbie! Cheers fellas!

Can't wait to have a crop of my own to share with everyone! Would be more then just pics! Hahaha sessions on me!
