I like to use a butter knife. I stick the end about an inch into the soil and make an envelope for it. I slipped the popped seed into the envelope and gently close her up.I would give them a shot, I plant pretty shallow when I direct sow. Between 1/4 to 1/2” I usually use the butt end of a sharpie marker and poke it into the soil up to where the curve stops, and that’s what I use for a planting depth for all seeds I plant veggie seeds included
What is vpd exactly I have it on my controller btw this is as low of a nighttime temp as it gets I know it's a lil lowI would avoid autos if your new, but it's too late now lol so I would really focus on temp, humidity and watering. If you get those right that's good progress for a first grow and youl produce good flower. Each grow add something down the line, avoid VPD u til your experienced you can ruin your plants. Also be easy with the 1000 watt light run it as low as you can where they don't stretch, its more than 2 plants need, save electricity. Best of luck!!!
Are u the OP? Are u in flower? That RH is quite high even with lights off. Vpd basically tells you how hard your plant is working. What is vpd exactly I have it on my controller btw this is as low of a nighttime temp as it gets I know it's a lil low
Sorry that temp and humidity is in my "seedlings tote" and no not the opAre u the OP? Are u in flower? That RH is quite high even with lights off. Vpd basically tells you how hard your plant is working.

This is interesting I've never heard of this yes im very new haha...The Ultimate Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) Guide
"Why devote an entire guide to VPD?" you might ask. The answer is that the vapor pressure deficit (VPD) is extremely important for growing plants. VPD helps you identify the correct range of temperature and humidity to aim for in your grow space. With VPD you can achieve the best results while...pulsegrow.com
Me too first grow as well germinated 9 seeds only 6 came up after planting in 50|50 mix of pearlite and composted manure thank God those came upThis is interesting I've never heard of this yes im very new haha...
Lol I haven't evwn had any sprout yet lmao. I'm away at work hipefully when I get home there up. Be setting up the tent next week for themMe too first grow as well germinated 9 seeds only 6 came up after planting in 50|50 mix of pearlite and composted manure thank God those came up
I started to freak out 2 days after I planted the germinated seeds and then like 6 hours later I had three plants up and then 6 hours after that I had three more so it was a good day lolLol I haven't evwn had any sprout yet lmao. Thank you very much. The information was very useful. I'm glad I read everything so I have a good understanding of what VPD is and how it affects the plants I even jumped around in that link that you sent and got a bunch more useful information as wellIn a nutshell, VPD levels tell you where the sweet zone in terms of the environment your plant lives in is at any given temperature or humidity level.
VPD also controls plant transpiration rates, stomata opening, CO2 uptake, nutrient uptake, and plant stress.
As you can see VPD is very important if you want to give your plants the optimal environment to photosynthesize in.

Since you're both new I'm going to "spray" you with some charts that can help guide you.Lol I haven't evwn had any sprout yet lmao. I'm away at work hipefully when I get home there up. Be setting up the tent next week for them

How long do u let ur tap root get b4 plantingI like to use a butter knife. I stick the end about an inch into the soil and make an envelope for it. I slipped the popped seed into the envelope and gently close her up.
2nd chart tells you how far away to set your light at the stage of growth your plant is at. 3rd chart is the DLI(Daily Light Integral). This tells you how much light your plant should be receiving daily at the stage of growth that it's at.Ok not really understanding the 2nd and 3rd chart but do u know the ppfd that seedlings should be at

I have a 5 x 5 that I veg and flower in but then again I like to SCROG so the net prevents me from vegging separately. I currently have two 275watt quantum boards but I'm going to upgrade to this:How big is ur tent and what light did u get I got the phlizon 1000 watt 6x6 veg and 5x5 flower and the ppfd is really good and good price at just under 600
Flourescents are great for seedlings, i would hold off on the led. You have gotten some good advice so far and putting the clear cup over the seed will help increase humidity tremendously to aid germination, the seed needs moisture. I soak seeds in water til they sink, 24-48 hours, then plant them. Easy to place the seed point up, then cover with more soil, inch loose and add water. Soaking the seed gives the kernel the water to germ and sprout. Your boiler room humidity is probably wicked dry, so once they outgrow the cup you will need a humidifier, gallon or two/day. Good luck.Hey all just joined thanks for having me. Just started my first grow. I actually kinda jumped the gun haha. I ordered new 1000 wat led to run in my small grow tent. However wont be here for a couple weeks so I actually started my plants yesterday. Just not in the tent yet. I planted fat bastard autos under a florescent till my lights show. I'll set up the tent and move in there in about 2 weeks wondering if yall think that's ok or will I stress these autos to much or not have a good start to growth as I know autos move quick. Let me know what you think. Also I watered yesterday when planted. Should I not water now again till after they sprout. The meduim still appears wet in the middle of the 5 gallon fabric planters. Let me know what you all think about this...
