Newbie with a pump question

Hello all,

This is my first post… yeeha! I am about to finish my first grow and my plants(GDP) are doing fine but I am having a pump/reservoir issue. I have a 70 gallon res with a 2 eco 264 submersible pumps circulating the nutrients. I am burning through a pump almost every other week. I do weekly res changes and even clean out the pumps during the change. Are there any tricks, a better pump, or circulation system out there? The cost of those pumps are adding up fast.

I would have to say faulty pumps, you shouldn't be burning through them that fast, Is your res at some point being completely empty and the pumps running dry, that would cause your problem and further out bigger problems ( a fire ).

Get a stronger pump. More money but less in the long run. You know what i mean?

I haven't let them run on empty. I'll give the larger pump a try. Thanks-
