Hello guys and girls. I've never introduced, so I am a a fifth year continuous grower. I am 45. Been smoking on and off, since age 14. Been cooking food since age 14. Went to school for it in grand rapids Michigan. Currently own a food trailer called gourmet grub. 906grub.com. Used to have landscape business in Florida when lived down there, in zephyrhills! Lol don't ask. Started growing using bagged living soils, and bottles. I liked humbolt county's own. I have recently jumped full on board no till regenerative growing. Korean natural farming techniques. These methods use other plants. Growing and harvesting different plants, and then giving the energy from the plants to the cannabis plant. They call it green manure. And fermented plant juice. And using plants by observing how they grow and planting them next to your cannabis to help them. companion planting. Native Americans were the first to do this. Alsouses composted manures. And they also use fish. Same ferment technique used on plants. I decided to start a new regenerative thread, because when I share on other organic threads, I seem to attract haters trying to stop this new trend. My goal is to start an organic appalachian in the e.u.p. area. Designed for craft, organic smoke found nowhere else. Trying to increase tourism in the les cheneaux islands area. I understand this is a large undertaking, but I feel we can do what champagne has done, and bourbon. I wil be posting my regenerative grow. Going to get some pics together to show my setup. And open for all info sharing! No hating regenerative here tho. Thank you!

I started with two year old cow manure.
Then added worm towers. Fresh castings.
Then added cover crops. This awesome package of cover crops does all the work for you. All these are for growth. Then found more plants/herbs that help cannabis in a couple other ways. Some are for keeping bugs away. Some are for oil production. Some are to attract predators. So fun to see all these plants have purposes never knew before!

It started with listening to the potcast. A great podcast for learning about top breeders and there gear and stories of where strains originated. It started with the dragonfly earth episode. Then Chris Trump. Then Elaine Ingram.
And swami. Down the rabbit hole I went! Korean natural farming is very interesting. And my favorite part is, this is good for the environment! It's creates eco systems, and helps forests to thrive! When the rain stops, I will put up new picks of the plants. They are just hauling ass! So far so good!!

Thanks! We are waiting to open this year, flu has put a hit on hospitality. Prices went up. Cooler broke last season. And the mask thing is pretty tough in a kitchen. We put up a post on Facebook about opening in a few weeks. Gotta say it's great to have this time to put this new garden together tho.

I've got four boys in front. Everybody is looking happy! Temps mid 70's in North Michigan! It's almost horsetail time. Its almost ready. Need to get a bigger grow room tho. 3x5 closet makes little ones to bring out. This short season we have.

Just found out about Korean natural farming a week or two ago. Never heard of it. Very interested in this no till, living soil etc etc. Loving all of it. Heck of a lot to take in.

Will check out that potcast you mentioned.

Good thread.

still wring the plants out by hand. Kinda of a pain, but it's warm out, so not so bad this is horsetail fermented plant juice. Called the fish market. That's the next ferment!!

You can mess this up, and I'm here to prove it!
This is result from my last batch of horsetail f.p.j. the landraces, or leaning ones, and fire o.g. DID NOT LIKE all that juice. Am kinda worried for the thai plants. I put a sprinkle of hardwood ash on top of the bad ones, and watered like hell. The choc thai already seems like it responding well.

Iranian x Turk doesn't like too much
Foxfarm mystery doesn't care
Fire o.g. doesn't like it
Wild thailand really doesn't like it
Quantum kush doesn't care
Mooseknuckle jockey doesn't care
Triangle kush doesn't care
Older fire o.g. cares a little bit
Amnesia lemon haze doesn't care
Harley m.d. doesn't care

I've been working on a thcv project. Started last year with black willie from reef, and Pakistan Peshawar, from bodhi. Put the seeds on top shelf over the winter. I run a wood stove, and cooked em! So started over with wild thailand from real seed company. But it looks like she might not make it. Am so pissed this project keeps getting sidetracked.

Have a sprinkler on them now. Might do it all night. Yeah, now I know it wasn't diluted enough. So I guess when testing, if it tastes too boozy means it's too strong? This blows pretty bad! Learning curve!

MAKE SURE to taste your f.p.j. before you put it in. I made a batch of horsetail f.p.j. and ended up killing three landrace plants. The hybrids are making it by, but the landrace ones just couldn't take it. (Playing taps)

Extracting the energy of the plant you use to make the fermented plant juice. Takes little over a week, by using brown sugar and the plant you choose chopped up in a bucket. The water left has all the good stuff from the plant you chose.

Upon review, I made terrible mistake of not tasting the juice. The juice you end up with should taste like mellow wine. Not schnapps. By not diluting the juice, I allowed a huge amount of natural fertilizer to go to them. TASTE YOUR JUICE before you put it in. Don't be a me.
