Hey everybody, iv only grown once before in a wardrobe with no ventillation and eco lights. Needless to say, dumb idea lol.

That was years ago and im much smarter now though lol

Anyway, I plan on growing 1 plant DWC with 600w HPS and am hoping to pull at least 400g. Am I aiming too high?

Im very confused regarding intake fans, outtake fans, how to get rid of smells, control temp, humidity etc so any tips on that would be great.

Also, id like to DIY the grow area/grow tent. How do I go about it?

Thanks in advance guys

Ok one 600 would go great with a tent. It's winter time now so you shouldn't have to worry about temps, and rh.

Get a 6 inch air cooled hood ( with glass enclosure, and a 6 inch fan. Your gonna use the 6 inch fan to suck out of the tent, and also suck the hot air out of the light.

Next get another 6 inch fan or 4 inch fan, to draw air into the tent. You can even get a duct booster if your cheap. ) there like 20 bucks.

That's pretty much all you got to worry about with one 600. You start addin more lights co2 the your gonna have differant issues.

Now as far as yeild, that depends on a lot of factors, your skill, strain, problems, nutes, medium ect. Worst case senerio with a 600 you would end up with like 4 zips, and that's like WORST case. Really. Like you would have to be a complete fuck up.

Also A 600 watt tent should be ok in the summer as well as long as you have AC were ever you have the tent.

You could also probably be able to run two 600's this same way no problem. And if it does seem to be to warm in the tent, just add another 6 inch fan blowin into the light. So you have one blowing in and one blowing out. This method really cools the lights the best.

Thank you mate, what is 4 zips though?

Also, will the things you mentioned get rid of smell?

Oh, and how would I DIY the tent? They are expensive here, real expensive, so I definatly couldnt afford to buy one.

zip = ounce = oz.(thus the idiomatic zip) = 28.35 g
400 g = 14 ounces

So what is your space?

I made my tent from 4 ml plastic sheeting in the corner of the basement.
It needs to be a sealed environment, with ventilation.
I glued a duct fan to the top of a charcoal canister filter and just run it inside the tent for odor control.

Oh - and if you can't vent outside, there will probably be some smell escaping in the final weeks of flower.

This might be a good thing, as it builds excitement, and bonds you to the plant you intend to burn.

For zips = a quater pound. But like I said you would really hav to fuck some shit up to get that.

As far as a DIY tent, if you want to be super cheap. Just use a closet, and drill two six inch holes in the walls. One for intake and one for out put.

If that's not a option, and you really need to build a tent. IDK man. You could build a cabinet maybe. As far as a tent, you would have to get into sewing and shit, or plastic and tape. I know they make zip doors you can buy. So some tube ing for a frame, and some plastic.

IDK man, if you can just find a spot in your house and get to drilling some holes.

If you want to post some pics of your crib am spot you want to grow in, I would be more than happy to give you some ideas as how to set it up. But I would need to see some space.

Or maybe a scetch. IDK

Better to vent inside the house when you can, than outside. He's only useing one 600 so no need to vent outside. Better to contain the stank inside the home. ;)

Thanks for the replies guys, I cant describe my space at the moment as I still have to find a house to do it in!

But on my budget, it will have to be a small house, maybe even a flat, so the room wont be very big and the window will probably be in full view of other houses/flats

Yea you need a tent man. If you don't own it, you dont want to be drilling holes and shit. Id say try to fid a used grow tent for sale. All you need is a 3x3 or 4x4 tent man.

Tents are ridiculously expensive here, I mean €600+ for even a small tent.

My best friend is great at DIY and could make me some form of box/tent to do it in, only neither of us now exactly how it "works" if you get what I mean.

Ok, so basically what you want is a enclosure that is about 3x3 or 4x4 area wide. Maybe like 6 feet tall, maybe a little less. Like 5. Anyways your going to need a intake hole for fresh air comeing in, and a in take to take hot air out. You hook a six inch fan up to the light to suck air in into the light and blow it out of the tent. And a can to suck fresh into the tent.

That's pretty much it bro. Air goes into the tent, air goes out.

Do most the hoods come with the cooler thing or is that something id need to actually check for when buying the hood?

Btw thanks so much for all your help guys, you have no idea how much I appriciate it

Iv just found some cheap tents, I may try and get one if I can afford it.

There are lots of way to build a tent. Basically you are building a rectangle. 3x3x5 would be 3 feet long, 3 feet wide by 5 feet tall. I hve a 3x3x7. Build your frame out of wood or PVC. You will be hanging your lights, fan, and filter from the top of the frame so don't be cheap on the frame or else it will collapse under the weight. It happened to me once and I lost some ladies.

Thanks mate, yes I think il make my own tent. I think I will make the frame ok, but its making it airtight and so that no light leaks out or in that will be the challenge.

PVC works great. Don't glue it unless you plan on never tearing it down. Just push the junctions together and add a single wrap of blue tape. You can even run all wiring through the PVC if you use 2" material. Just use a T junction and leave it uncapped, run the wires through to wherever and exit through another T junction. 600w HPS for one plant? Nice. Big buds for sure.
