herbalists & growers salutations.

while having been involved in cultivation of my favortie plant for about 10 years (1985 to 1995), it's has been quite some time since my last grow.

graduate school, life, work, starting a business, moving around, living abroad, surfing waves, restoring cars, painting murals, and more, all forced me to put aside one hell of a fantastic hobby.

finally, and comming full circle, i am now a homeowner with the space to continue doing what i honestly love : growing dank buds. and, to make the transition to growing again that much easier, the lights and equipment i have had in storage the last 10 years were simply waiting for me.

moreover, in the time i was "absent" from the grow scene, and paying $ for those tastey nuggets, the internet has grown tremendously ...& access to information (of all types) has flourished ...& grow tech has evolved.

to be blunt, i love this particular site.

having explored others, and lurking here for quite some time, there is something about the knowledge base at the Farmer that just makes me smile with delight.

to add fuel to the fire, you guys (and other sites too) have increased my herbal knowledge with your threads, discussions, techniques, applications, styles, research, experiments, and more.

i have spents weeks upon weeks pouring through searches and enjoying hours upon hours of reading & learning.

for your dedication ===> i thank you all !

rather than get long winded, & side-tracked, i simply wanted to make my first post a good one.

i have much to share... so i hope to contribute frequently & become a valuable member.

i still have much more to learn... but sharing "the knowledge" is what you guys seem to do best.

i included pics of my recent Attitude purchase : blue cheese, afghan kush, sour cream, and kaya 47 seeds.

as well, a shot of my veg. closet w/ 250w metal hailde & three mother plants (excellent bagseed) i've been tending.

my set up, in the back of my detached garage, is as follows:

veg closet : 3x3x6 : 250w MH
flower closet : 6x3x6 : right now 150w HPS & 250w MH
clone & seed closet : 5x2.5x2.5 : small t5s and fluros

medium : right now : soil

next : i am completely set up for running DWC (pro air pump, 8 - 3.5 gal buckets, nutes & chemicals, net baskets of various sizes, cloner made with info @ the Farmer, rockwool, hydroton, ph & ppm meters, 35 gal reservoir, and so much more) as soon as i can get some clones from my current mother plants.

next purchase : 600w HPS

it is officially ==> on ===> till the break a dawn.

too, i am using a fresh air intake ...which is a dryer vent at the roof line at the back of my garage. a 165 cfm inline fan provides copious amounts of air to the bottem of the veg closet. on the intake side i need to install a duct muffler... to cut down on the noise from the air being sucked into the vent.

the renaissance man that i am, i plan to make my own duct muffler & post a pictorial "how to" with results in the next week or two.

also, i use an 80 cfm inline fan to move fresh air from the veg closet to the flower closet... to keep the fresh air moving through the system so to speak.

and, since i run a 24 hour veg cycle, it also provides additional heat to the flower room for those cold New Jersey winter months (when the surfing is best).

right now, it's summer...so the extra heat is unnecessary... but the fresh air is critical.

the flower closet uses a 200cfm fan to exhaust directly into the garage space. since i am the only person who uses the garage, i dont plan on ever exhausting outside.

my garage is schorching hot in the summer but all my closets stay at 85 (ish) degrees.

still, and just in case, a carbon filter will be added in the near future.

right now, i can't take pics of everything ...the flower closet is in dark mode & i've got other things to do.

take care & stay high & be fly
