I'm starting this diary close to the end of my grow, but I want to get everyone acquainted with me for the next one. The tallest one is Northern lights, and she'll be the one that I focus on. She has totally crowded out my other strains, and they are performing weaker because of it. I love sharing my info with others and I love learning about growing. It really is my passion.

I will be harvesting the day after Christmas and curing for another two weeks after that in air tight jars. Here are a few pictures...

I really hope so. She's looking pretty strong now, but none of the pistils have started dying yet, so I think she has a some room to grow. Every day she looks frostier!

you should put panda plastic around it like a horseshoe to use more of your light, that will help too.

Who's NL? I have recently passed out 4-30 packs of Doc Atomic's NL. Those grows should be appearing across the net soon. Peace GS

@Ib - I actually put reflective lining around it at one point, but it was messing up the air flow and temps. I have been thinking about attaching CFLs to the sides to help penetrate the undergrowth.

@Green - I don't know where she's from. I picked her up from San Diego Herbal Alternatives as a pretty weak clone, but she blew up crazy, as you can see. I hate being at the mercy of what other people claim a clone to be though.

Not posting any pics today because they still look the same. I harvest in three weeks, so I was thinking about going ahead and doing the flush. Should I start running clean RO water through it now?

They are pretty dark, it couldn't hurt. God luck. Peace GS

Today I added 5 gal of clean RO water, no nutes. I expect to only do this one or two more times before harvest. They are drinking really heavy right now, and I find my self adding 5 every three days to keep the pump spraying. On the next grow I was thinking about adding molasses. Anyone have positive/negative experiences with that?

New Pics!

So, it's important to remember that this is just one plant. I'm posting new pics because one of her branches has become so heavy that it hangs almost upside down now. I don't want to try and tie her up anymore because I'm so close to harvest. Here they are!

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2002.jpg The branch on the right is the one that has fallen over.

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2013.jpg This is the bottom half of the plant.

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2012.jpg A view of the top.

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2010.jpg A little side flower.

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2009.jpg Another of the tops.

http://i1003.invalid.com/albums/af153/jdmedford/Grow%201%20NL/NL2003.jpg This is the underside of the branch that fell over. You can't really tell here, but the underside is super frosty.

She didn't do this until I added nute free RO water. I'm just letting her drink everything in the bin for another day or two before I pour another 5gal. I'll cry when I cut her down, but I'm soooo ready. Thanks for any feedback ladies and gentlemen.

Apollo 13 does the same sort of thing 'cept the whole plant flips over from bud weight. Tying or staking can be helpful. Peace GS

Right on. I have her tied, but staking probably would have worked better. I've also considered using the tomato cylinder things (what are those called?). Based on what you see, what kind of yield do you think I can expect? I'm estimating a 1/2 lb max.

If I had to guess, I would say 4-6 oz. Anything more is just bonus. Peace GS

My TGA Querkle needs cages for sure, seem all my strains latly need something by the end, even the hindu willie with its thick ass stems. heres my last querkle it fell over into a octapus..my new querkles are loving the cages, just bought a roll of fence and cut it then tie it together, works perfect for big and small plants.

kinda hard to see the cage in the last 2 pics though. loving them.

from weak to hoorah, cool

hey JMED,
congrats dude. sodon't you really mean you will cut down at the proper time(checking trich profile will make your efforts worth it).

then dry in 7-10 days so you get smooth smoke.

then cure the dried buds in jars 1month minimum, but 2 - 3 months for most strins to get what your after. yes, i realize you may nopt have smoke and that cure timemay be out the window lol.

keepin mind once you have a nice mother; clones will allow a harvest every 60,70,... days depending on your flowring time. that will allow you to cure the bud properly and make you really happy with the xtra smoke. take care:damnhippie:

@Hopeful - Yeah, I wouldn't harvest her any other way than the right way. I use a 30x micro to check trichs, but I find that on plants like this, the best way to get a all around better harvest is to wait until about 85% of the pistils are orange/red, and I always harvest in the morning. I've still been debating on weather or not to cut the sun leaves off before hanging to dry. I'm never rushed to produce flowers, so my buds are in a constant cure lol. I store them in jars and dark places burping them every day (when I smoke them). I don't have a set up for mothers yet, but I'm getting there.

@Dubsta - Lookin sweet! Love the set up and love the flowers!
